🌾🚜 Happy National Farmers Day!

To the ones who work long after the sun goes down, miss family dinners, cancel plans because Mother Nature has other ideas, and carry the weight of a thousand things most people never see.

Farming isn’t just driving a tractor. It’s being a mechanic, meteorologist, problem solver, businessman and a whole lot of other things before the day is done.

A special shoutout to my two favorite farmers, Tony and John. ❤️

And while I’m still learning the ropes as a flower farmer, I’ve gained more appreciation for what it takes to grow something from a tiny seed to something worth harvesting. 🌸 It’s a much smaller scale than what Tony and John do every day, but it’s given me a little taste of the patience, hard work and unpredictability that comes with farming.

Here’s to the early mornings, late nights, stubborn determination and the love of a life that isn’t always easy but is worth it.

Happy National Farmers Day to all the hardworking men and women who keep agriculture moving, no matter what they’re growing! 🌽🌸❤️

Sometimes a field of flowers tells a story far greater than words ever could. 💜🌼

Today, I had the opportunity to attend the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Mason, Ohio, representing my main job. (Georges Medical Equipment)

One of my favorite parts of my job is getting out into the communities we serve, meeting people, hearing their stories and connecting with families beyond the walls of our stores.

But today was a little different.

Watching the colorful Promise Garden flowers standing together was a beautiful reminder of just how many lives Alzheimer’s touches.

Each color represents a different connection to this disease: those living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, those caring for someone, those who have lost someone and those supporting a future without Alzheimer’s.

Different colors. Different stories. One shared hope. 💜

I’m grateful for the conversations, the people I met and the opportunity to be part of something that means so much to so many families.

Behind every flower is a story. And every story matters. 💜🌼

cookies for $2

We also have a selection of mini pumpkins and gourds two for a dollar and some flower bouquets for $15 or as marked.

and later this evening or tomorrow we will have turnovers for $4.

UPDATE: The baking soda experiment was NOT a total success. 😂🧺

Remember Tony’s oil-stained shirt I was trying to save?

Well, I covered the stains in baking soda, let it sit overnight, and then ran it through the washer and dryer.

The verdict? It definitely lightened the stains, but they’re STILL THERE. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ve heard baby powder might be the next trick to try, but before I start experimenting with every product in the house, I figured I’d ask the experts… YOU! 😂

What ACTUALLY works to get motor oil and grease stains out of clothes? Especially after they’ve already been through the dryer?

Dish soap? Baby powder? Some magical laundry product I’ve been missing all these years?

If you saw my post last night about saving flower seeds… here’s the part I didn’t show you. 😂

Saving seeds somehow turned into, “Well, these plants are still thriving, so I can’t just leave them…”

Which turned into loading a few plants into the van.

Which turned into this. 🤦‍♀️🌱

Dirt, dried leaves, flower pieces — basically half the flower bed came home with me.

And this is exactly why I bought this little handheld vacuum from Amazon. For the messes that need cleaned up, but aren’t quite worth dragging out the big shop vac.

A couple minutes later and we’re back to pretending I don’t use my van to haul plants around. 😂

One of those Amazon purchases I didn’t need… until I realized how often I use it.

Is anyone else’s husband harder on clothes than their teenage son?! 😂

Flannels. T-shirts. Jeans. Socks.

It. Never. Ends.

New holes. Rips. Grease stains. Dirt. And stains that apparently have no known origin. Clothes I SWEAR I just bought somehow looking like they’ve survived three harvests and a barbed-wire fence. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

At this point, I don’t even ask “What happened to this?” anymore.

I guess it’s just part of the life when your husband is also the mechanic, because despite what some people think, farming involves a whole lot more than just driving a tractor. 🌾🔧

One day he’s in the tractor, the next he’s underneath it, inside a combine, driving the water truck, fixing something in the shop or covered in grease trying to keep everything moving.

So maybe the real question isn’t “How did you ruin another shirt?”

It’s “Why do I keep buying you nice clothes?” 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

So if you see Tony walking around looking like a mess… just know I tried. 😂

The holes, grease stains and questionable wardrobe choices are between him and the farm at this point.
