Now You're Cooking Midcoast Maine's Premier Cookware Store since May 2000 Mike and Betsy Fear opened the doors of Now You’re Cooking for the first time May 9, 2000.

In the beginning there was a staff of five and just 1,800 square feet of retail space. We have now doubled our staff and more than doubled our retail space, expanding once to the north side of the building and once to the south. At Now You’re Cooking our vision is to be Midcoast Maine’s Premier Cookware Store--a store stocked with a variety of interesting, good quality, reasonably priced kitchen p

roducts for the home chef; where the environment is clean and inviting and the merchandise is well displayed and organized; where the staff are knowledgeable about the products we offer and, most importantly, we treat each customer and each other as a friend.

At tonight’s staff meeting we welcomed Peter from the Japanese knife company Shun. We carry their Classic and Premier lines, and have just added the Shiranami. Inspired by the iconic white-capped waves of Japanese art, the Shiranami knives are standouts for their unique blending of 71-layer Dual Core Damascus steel with alternating VG10 and VG2 stainless steels. We cut some onions tonight using them and wow you can really feel the difference! 🔪🌊

Today! Special Kermit Lynch Tasting
Thursday, June 4, from 5-7pm

Kermit Lynch wines make up an important part of Now You're Cooking's wine collection. We are thrilled to welcome Lisa Strausser, the New England Sales Manager for Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, for a special tasting this Thursday, June 4 from 5-7pm.

Soon after founding his eponymous retail shop in 1972 in Albany, California, Kermit Lynch began exclusively selling imports from French and Italian winegrowers, purchasing wines directly from the domaines, focusing on small producers whose wines express the authentic style of their native region.

This is a free, drop-in event for anyone 21+. No need to register in advance. The tasting wines will all be on special discount, so this is a wonderful opportunity to stock up. And Stephanie is preparing some tasty snacks!
