This is our friend Lilly. I've had the privilege of spending some time with her and driving her to classes through a program Hands Producing Hope started. Since then, she has gotten a job at Light House Coffee and is killin' it. I love seeing her every time I go get coffee.

Lighthouse is probably only 10-15 min from her house but she sometimes spends hours on the bus to get to and from work. Please take a minute to check out the gofundme that has been started for her to reunite with her partner as well as empower her as she works hard to build a life here in the US.

Live Your Love can personally vouch for Lilly and Lighthouse. These are amazing humans and I'm honored to share her story! If you've ever wanted to help refugees or be a part of something meaningful in the midst of all this immigration back and forth here is a GREAT opportunity. We need to educate on policy for sure. In the mean time we can make a real life difference in the lives of refugees in our neighborhood!

[Our Founders]
50 years ago today, the Memphis Sanitation Strike began. Today, we stand, united and determined as ever to continue the fight for civil rights, racial equality and just more kindness in the world.

Thankful for the men and women behind this movement, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. whose life was taken when he showed up to support and encourage the people in this fight for freedom.

If you don’t know anything about this, do yourself a favor and google it up right now! We had the privilege to walk the streets of Memphis in April of last year. Life changing.

Happy Birthday Michelle Obama 🎉

Achievement, no matter what party you support, deserves recognition and this woman has achieved so much in her life time. Her contributions to health and her devotion to the cause of equality in education around the world during her time as First Lady is something we should all celebrate.
“A new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model!” - Barack Obama

We can’t agree more and we are thankful for the leadership and inspiration Mrs. Obama!
Thank you for Living Your Love!

Thankful for this brave girl! ❤️

・・・
Ruby Bridges, who was born in 1954, was the first African-American student to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South. Bridges had to be escorted to and from school by U.S. Marshals during the segregationist protests of her enrollment. Her first day was November 14, 1960.

Today, we remember the victims; the ones who died and the ones who live.

Today, we remember the brave men and women whose sacrifice and selflessness was louder than hate.

Today, we remember how we came together as a nation, as a family, united together under one mission: to love and care for our neighbors.

Nation-wide, people flew the flag, hugged and cried with one another.

Today, we remember that we are still one nation and one family. We need to take care and value each other today, more than ever.
We don't have to wait for another tragedy to choose love and unity.

Today, in honor of never forgetting, do something kind for your fellow man. Take care of each other. Choose today.

Guys!!! Are we only successful if we win or is learning a success in and of itself?
Why is it so hard to believe that success may come or look differently than the small definition or expectation we give ourselves?
Why are we so hard on ourselves in general?
Maybe you're actually a HUGE success... Take a minute and see if there's something in your day you've actually done well that you haven't even given yourself credit for.
You're awesome.
You're doing great.
Keep makin' this place better!
We need you...
Just as you are...
Just where you are.

Our hearts are broken but we are thankful for and others that are taking care of those who really need it right now!

Repost:・・・ When it comes to Syria, simple narratives just don’t work. The only part of this crisis that’s black and white is that innocent children are paying the steepest price. They are caught up in a war not of their making, and they need our help.

・・・ Syria is facing a dire situation right now—there’s no way around it. But despite the desperation, we must not give up hope.

・・・ We must keep showing up for the Syrian people. For those injured in Tuesday’s tragic chemical attack—and for those who face the difficult task of moving forward. For displaced people from all across Syria, trying to make ends meet until they can go home. For families rebuilding their homes in Aleppo. For those trapped as human shields in ISIS-held Raqqa.

・・・ Don’t settle for the simple narrative... but don’t be paralyzed by the lack of one, either. You don’t have to fully comprehend the Syrian conflict (who does?) in order to show up. You don’t have to understand what each side is trying to achieve in order to recognize that violence unmakes the world—and that we are called to unmake violence with our preemptive love.
