You’ve seen Picanha Steak popping up in our ads lately, but do you know what makes this cut a little different? 🥩

Picanha has deep roots in Brazilian barbecue, or churrasco, where it’s one of the most celebrated cuts of beef. In the U.S., you may also hear it called coulotte, sirloin cap, or top sirloin cap. It’s the triangular muscle that sits over the top sirloin, with a layer of fat that adds rich, juicy flavor as it cooks.

Traditionally in Brazil, picanha is cut into thick steaks, folded onto large skewers, and cooked over charcoal. But you don’t need a churrascaria setup at home! It’s also a great cut for grilling, roasting, or smoking.

A2/A2 Kefir and Sour Cream from Alexandre Family Farm

You may have seen these dairy items on the shelf, but what does A2 actually mean? Cow’s milk contains proteins called beta-caseins, most commonly A1 and A2. While most conventional dairy comes from cows producing a combination of A1 and A2 beta-casein, Alexandre Family Farm has bred a herd that produces only the A2 form. Some people who experience digestive discomfort with conventional milk find A2 dairy easier to digest, though it still contains milk proteins and isn’t appropriate for someone with a milk allergy.

The whole kefir pairs A2/A2 milk with live probiotics from 24 strains, while its seasonal milkfat gives you the naturally changing richness of the milk throughout the year. Their European-style sour cream is also made with A2/A2 dairy and live cultures, with 25% milkfat for an extra-thick, rich, creamy texture for dips, baked dishes, chili, or a very generous dollop on just about anything. 😋
