BRECO powered the entire street railway and bus, electric lighting, power and gas business in Baton Rouge, and the electric lighting and power business in 4

The company’s tireless expansion efforts, progressive initiatives and careful consideration of the needs of its citizens have a symbiotic relationship to Baton Rouge’s development into a modern city. Much like the Baton Rouge Electric Company innovators rallied together to provide the city with a service pertinent to its growth, developers and compatible tenants will now come together in the same location (in a new era) and fulfill the capital city’s need for a different type of experience. Picking up where BRECO left off, Electric Depot will serve as catalyst for redevelopment and socialization between downtown east and Mid City, turning on the lights for that section of Government Street (so to speak). Curating an exciting and inviting atmosphere for everyone aligns with a new American ideal; where better to do it than a property that is synonymous with up-and-coming services? Every Monday at 6PM, the Downtown East Social Ride bike club makes an evening ride around Baton Rouge a community event and every December you bet they are biking around town looking for Christmas Lights! They meet at the Electric Depot every Monday and the social ride is free to join! This is a low-impact weekly bike ride that is great for beginners and riders of all ages. 🚴‍♀️
