Kieslich Sunset Acres Kieslich Sunset Acres is a 65 acre Farm located in Battletown, KY. We train horses, go on trail rides The landscape is picturesque and secluded.

This farm features rich pastures, two ponds, open spaces, wooded trails, a round pen and large indoor riding arena. Originally part of the Old Barr Farm, this property was established as Kieslich Sunset Acres in 2000. The owners are Eberhard and Monika Kieslich.

Looking for some part time help around the farm. Individuals must know how to w**d eat fences, horse areas and pastures. Must know how to operate a Stihl w**deater, load string etc. without training or supervision. Other task assigned as needed. Pay is $12.00 an hour. Depending on skill 16 hours a week is a possibility.

Learn from the Best!

This is an unforgettable memory. I took Nezhani for a advanced Horsemanship clinic with million dollar rider Craig Johnson at the Australian Equine Performance Center in Lexington in 2017.

In just a few days my skill improved so much, and my horse became more and more relaxed.

Ground training the older, finished horse is quite a bit different than training a young c**t. Yet it is essential for the horse’s well being. Rearranging obstacles, training inside, outside keep them mentally fresh and interested.

Cruising lesson with our rescue c**t, Bonanza. He just turned three. After three sessions in the round pen, where the rider acts initially as a passenger or load, and later progresses to cueing the horse herself, this is the first cruising lesson. The horse can go wherever he wants to go. The reins are only used for the one rein stop in case the horse runs off or gets too fast. Bonanza is doing great. No struggles whatsoever! Horses are prepared through ground training to be conditioned for a four-minute continuous ride. My student Raigan is doing a great job sitting in balance and not getting in the horse’s way. Can’t wait to take him outside. Maybe tomorrow.

Meet our new family member, Bonanza. A two year old gelding I picked up at a sale barn back in September. I called him a rescue, because he was nothing but skin and bones. He appeared physically sound, but terribly malnourished. I felt like doing a good deed and gave this poor thing a fresh start in life. Began ground training him during the winter months. He’s doing great! Given his past, we‘ll give him as much time as he needs to build up strength, before we start him under saddle. Really think he’ll be a good one!
