That’s a wrap on the 2026 hatching season! 🐣✨Our last batch hatched today 👏

The incubators are officially cleaned, sanitized, and packed away until next year. Now comes the fun part… watching these babies grow and dreaming about all the beautiful egg colors they’ll lay next season! 💚🥚

We’ve got Olive Eggers and Easter Eggers available now, ranging from 1 day old to 2 weeks old. These “ladies” are fluffy, adorable, and way less drama than their human counterparts.

The ugly side of chicken keeping isn’t talked about enough.

Social media shows beautiful egg baskets, fluffy chicks, and happy hens in the sunshine—and those moments are real. But so are the hard ones.

Sometimes chicks hatch with severe deformities. Sometimes a beloved hen becomes sick or injured, and we have to make heartbreaking decisions. Those days are never easy.

Then there’s the daily reality: cleaning coops, hauling feed, scrubbing waterers, treating injuries, managing predators, and dealing with a whole lot of chicken p**p.

We love this life, but it’s important to be honest…chickens are more than pretty eggs and cute photos. They require hard work, commitment, and daily care.

Before bringing home chicks, make sure you’re ready for all of it.

Because chickens aren’t a hobby you can put on a shelf…they depend on you every single day. 🤎🐓🥚

And just like that, our hatching season has come to a close! 🐣✨ We just loaded our final incubator of the season, and what an incredible season it has been.

As we wrap up hatching for now, Moss & Bloom Egg Co. is not going anywhere—we're simply taking a pause to allow our next generation of birds to grow, mature, and continue building toward the future of our breeding program. We can't wait to see what these young birds bring in the seasons ahead!

Hi friends! Welcome to Moss & Bloom Egg Co. 🤍🥚🌿

I’m Katie — the face behind the flock! I’m a Gulf Coast local, wife, mama of four, chicken keeper, and now first-year breeder with a huge passion for colorful eggs and intentional breeding.

By day, I work in HR at a local community college, but my journey here has been anything but traditional. Back in 2020, I made a big career change after years in the skincare industry. I later spent some time selling real estate before eventually finding my place in HR.

We brought home our OG flock in 2023, and what started as “just a few backyard chickens” quickly became something so much bigger. For the last three years, I’ve been researching, planning pairings, learning genetics, and carefully building the foundation for what Moss & Bloom Egg Co. is becoming today. This year is officially my first year breeding, and seeing these plans finally come to life has been incredibly rewarding.

At Moss & Bloom Egg Co., my goal is to raise happy, healthy birds while producing beautiful, colorful eggs and thoughtfully bred chicks with quality, temperament, and egg color in mind. Around here, you’ll find everything from olive and sage greens to blues, speckles, and blooms that make every egg feel unique.

This page will be a place to share available eggs, chicks, breeding projects, hatch days, and all the little behind-the-scenes moments that come with building this dream.
