My middle child had a birthday recently, and we were in the middle of packing to move out of state. My youngest child was very concerned that her older sister wasn't gonna have a themed birthday. She saw that her sister was kinda bummed and took upon herself at six years old to create decorations for her sister. I watched her sit at her desk most of the morning drawing and coloring. All said and drawn she had made some ten to fifteen drawing for her sister, some were just stars others were a little more detailed. This is just one of those items. Even though her mother, grandmother, and eldest sister went out to get the themed decorations, she at si years old and the biggest heart set out to ensure her sister had a excellent themed birthday.
If you don't know that is Captian Marvel.

Took two of my girls out this weekend for a archery 3D shoot. We had a blast met some very nice people and had some great shots at some difficult targets some past 60 yards.
Here Scarlett had a good shot I think maybe at 12 yards, this was her first full day of actual shooting, great attitude, stayed positive after a long struggle on the first part of the day, the bow was set to high on the draw but once we fixed that; AWESOME!

⚠️ CAUTION ⚠️
proud family shouting out!
Selah had her 4-H county fair shoot today! Congrats to all the kids that showed up and weathered the heat. Selah shoot very well as I walked beside her through the 3D targets. Then I got to watch her from behind the line as she flung arrows down range at paper targets. She struggled with the 40 yrd paper target (mostly because we didn't finish sighting in for 40) she self corrected when her first shot sank to 4pt ring. She finished strong we all went away feeling she did good. She had aspirations to finish in the middle of the group at 4th or 5th.
We just received the results and found out that she qualified for state by placing first (1st)
I am so happy for Selah she has worked very hard dealing with her Dad pushing her for the last 3 months. Oh yeah that is all she has shot the bow, she first picked up the bow in May!

As I sat on the front deck reading some history book outlining how things were and how they will be or should be. Reflection can be the mother of reaction or revelation. You ultimately choose which it is. So as I sit waiting to catch a pair of rubbie throats quarreling over the nectar (non colored made of natural ingredients) LOL.
A sparrow flies by lands next to my heirloom tomato plants that only have a few fruit to be used for seeds. So naturally I am a little protective. This beautiful little sparrow lands on the fence boguarding my tomatoes, it stares intentionally at the plants tilting its head side to side. Spying the prize...I defensively turn to shoo it away, again I with book in one hand and coffee ("my precious" said in a raspy gruff voice in my head) the other. I flail my arms saying " No! GET! DON'T YOU DARE! Mind you my children sleep not twenty feet from the the deck. The plants are just to the right of their bedroom window. With that in mind my commanding voice is more like that of a chattering mouse. Still to no avail the sparrow only looks at me mockingly. Collecting myself and the remnants of what was left of my coffee, I begin to search for a projectile to hurl in the direction of this beast that looks to pillage spoils of my toil and labor. Not really it was just looking for food to provide probably for its young. In my thoughts, this ravenous marauder was out for a malicious attack on me personally. Reflection or Revelation! The past has taught us one thing and how we respond is our choice. The sparrow was never after my tomatoes it was looking to help itself to the pests that have prolifically multiplied in my pasture the dreaded grasshoppers. They have devoured our fields and are a huge problem. This revelation only took place after I responded to a past conclusion that the sparrow was the enemy and I was the defender. The truth is I was irrelevant in this case; the beautifully drab earth toned sparrow was the heroine of the story. God does what we can not, when we fail He make a way. We may not see that due to our focus. The focus of reaction or revelation. Our past will dictate our future when we are blinded by it, unable to allow the future to be handled by the Creator.

Selah, now three weeks into shooting the bow. She took aim from 20 yards and the rest is a puddle of fizz. Now I know 20 yards is not a far distance but mind you she just picked up the bow inside three weeks. Like it send it let her feel the encouragement from you all.

BTW: not a political video just saluting the worst beer company. No we did not pay for the beer it was left in car rental...
