✨ I’m doing something new this year… I’m entering CARROTS in the La Plata County Fair ✨

We’ve never entered our veggies before, but we picked out the most gorgeous carrots from the garden and I’m taking them to the fairgrounds on Wednesday for the Open Class crops exhibit. Wish me luck, I’m ridiculously excited! 🥕 Can you tell? 🤓

Our kids have been entering 4‑H projects for at least five years, and watching their hard work shine has totally motivated me to join in on the fun. If you’ve been thinking about entering your own garden’s bounty… do it! Open Class is for everyone.

And definitely plan to come to the La Plata County Fair, August 5–9 at the Fairgrounds to see these 🥕🥕 in person + all the incredible projects from our 4‑H youth and the amazing makers across our county.

🌱✨ Big push today to get the garlic pulled in ahead of the rain - and we got ’er done!

This year’s harvest is gorgeous. Big bulbs. Great shape. Mike has been saving this seed and growing it out for 20 years and it's always a pleasure to bring the crop in and see what we got.

Now these beauties are headed to the curing deck in the barn for our CSA members to enjoy starting in a few weeks. Feeling grateful and garlic‑blessed over here. 🧄🤎🌾

Funky carrot energy for tomorrow’s Durango Farmers Market. 🥕💃 They’re shaped weirdly, taste great just like the regular bunches, and they’re on super sale - 3 lbs for $10 💥

Catch us on the 10th St block at the Durango Farmers Market market on Main Ave. These funky carrots won’t last long.

Well also have the usual suspects: salad (back after the hail 🤍), radishes, japanese turnips, gorgeous green onions, and some beautiful bok choy 🥬

We’re pumped for this special market. Nothing beats 🫜🫜🫜 partying on Main Ave with our community.

And yay for funky carrots.

We're back on Main Ave tomorrow with a whole bunch of great produce! Come see us on Main between 10th and 11th St, near Cream Bean Berry.

We're bringing:
🥕Carrots
🫜Radishes
⚪️Japanese Turnips
🥒Cucumbers!!!
🌱Arugula and
🥗Salad Mix

And so you can plan ahead - we are accepting cash, cards, apple pay, market tokens and EBT these days.

It’s getting warm here and we’re finally feeling like we’re past the threat of a frost, a real turning point of the season. 🌞🌱

Even though we’ve been planting in the garden for over six weeks, that’s all been the hardy stuff. Now we’re shifting into the tender vegetables that can’t handle those freezing overnight temps.

This week we planted green beans, flowers, and peppers (bells and jalapeños) with our wonderful crew, along with our regular weekly plantings like salad mix, carrots, cilantro and more.

Exciting times… that big seasonal shift where we slip into the heat of the growing season. It’s getting real out there. ✨
