We are thrilled to have the work of Jeremy Chance gracing the walls of our taproom!

Jeremy Chance is a visual artist based in Cornwall, NY. His gestural, abstract paintings are informed by his relocation from Brooklyn to the Hudson Valley during the pandemic and the subsequent birth of his child. In his work, he layers energetic mark-making in response to the dense, tangled woods of the local landscape. His use of intense, saturated colors thrives on an unexpected friction, drawing simultaneously from the playful world of children's book illustrations and the disruptive, high-key signal colors of digital displays.
Locally, Chance is an active part of the regional arts ecosystem. A regular participant in Upstate Art Weekend, he hosted a solo open studio exhibition of his "Leaves of Glass" series in 2025. This was followed by a showcase of new drawings, collages, and large-scale works on paper for the 2026 Open Studios. He was previously selected for the Emerging Artist program at the Heckscher Museum of Art (2020) and was an artist-in-residence at the Institute for Electronic Arts at Alfred University (2022).
Chance earned a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art in 2005 and an MFA from Hunter College in 2007. Born in 1983 in Tifton, Georgia, he now lives and works in the Hudson Valley with his wife and toddler.
