Alford Family Farms and Spinnery

Alford Family Farms and Spinnery Processing of Wool and Alpaca from Washing to Yarn
(1)

Alford Family Farms and Spinnery is a working farm and Fiber Mill in upper western Montgomery County Maryland. The farm animals are alpacas, dogs, a horse and various wild animals that live on it or visit on occasion (deer, turkey, fox rabbits birds and a very shy black bear). The farm produces primarily Alpaca fiber and hay. The fiber mill takes in both sheep and alpaca wool. Some of the fiber is produced on the farm and other fiber is from small producers locally and around the country. The output of the Fiber mill can be anything from washed fiber to plied yarn depending on a customers wishs. We also produced a limited amount of dyed yarn and finished garments.
