We are home to a small herd of Pygmy goats and our beautiful Livestock Guardian dogs. Belfire Botanicals is a locally owned business founded by Rod Morey and now run by his wife Susan Morey of Sassafrass Ridge Farm. We produce herbal teas, salves and tinctures made from locally wildcrafted plants and from companies that provided organic, sustainably sourced herbs.

Our Story

We relocated our farm to Eastern TN in the Appalachian Mountains in 2017. Since that time we have been determining where our new focus will be headed in the coming years. Our goal is to become as self-sustainable as possible. To that end we will be adding a small apiary - bees - in the Spring of 2020. This will help with our goal of planting herbs, native wildflowers, plants and trees that will provide our herbal business with a sustainable, organic supply of wildcrafted herbs for our remedies.

Sassafras Ridge Farm is also home to Belfire Botanicals, we have our own blends of herbal teas, salves and tinctures and can be found at www.belfirebotanicals.com

Future goals: Adding the 42 acre tract of land that is next our property so that we can expand our available are for wildcrafting, teaching wildcrafting and eventually offering campsites for those who want to come and visit for a few days for events or just for the peace and quiet our farm offers.
