Despite our (August 4th 🙄) freeze followed by 90 degree days, the flowers are still blooming and the frostbitten plants are recovering. Some general bouquets were made, as well as fair bouquets submitted for judging tomorrow! We also had a few friends/neighbors out to the farm to make their own bouquets. Unfortunately, I did a poor job of snapping pictures of bouquets and will have to do a better job this upcoming week.

Oooooffff. It's been a hard week. Last week I returned from a trip with friends to my cosmos not looking quite right. I contacted our local ag extension office, and those are currently being tested. Unfortunately, I then had to pull all ~120 of the cosmos with the hope of protecting the rest of my flowers. Since then, I have had some other plants that now appear symptomatic.

Then, last night we had a frost. Yes, on August 4th. It's only been 33 days since our last frost on July 1. The local forecast called for 39 degrees, and unfortunately many of our plants are heavily damaged. At 6:30 this morning I watered a few things that aren't set up on our drip system before work and everything was fine. When my husband returned home from work today, so many of our plants were frost bitten.

8 days ago I was planning to begin marketing and hosting a few small events this year and planning for next year. Today, I'm feeling a bit hopeless. So many hours of work, mostly after bedtime, were put in and now feel wasted. I'm not quite sure where we go from here.
