Lambs!!! It has been a busy week! Lambs will be ready to go early August! These are all out of Taco- our piebald ram who shows and carries the spotting gene. 3 ewes were badger faced, 1 was a black piebald with spotting as well but we are keeping the little lady with the black patches!

I know they will be just fine... but it makes me feel so much better if I give them a warm treat before bedtime... Its beet pulp and alfalfa pellets soaked in hot water for 30 minutes, then I add their whole corn and grain mix. I have friends in double digits below freezing with sheep, but these babies aren't used to this cold so I'll sleep better knowing they have something warm on their tummies. Looks like it will be even colder first thing in the morning so I brought my beer pulp in to soak when I get up and will do it again! Is it Spring yet?

I'm not looking forward to the snow, but thankfully everyone is already close-by in the back yard! Watch how quickly this Border Collie is able to bring these ladies in from the field in inclement weather!
