Located adjacent to the North Carolina Scenic Byway kiosk and visitor pull-off owned by Carteret County, the property is within minutes of downtown Beaufort and East Carteret High School. The site will eventually include a short public nature trail designed to introduce visitors to the ecological importance of the North River region and the nearby North River Wetlands Preserve - one of the largest coastal wetland restoration and conservation landscapes on the East Coast. The trail and interpretive exhibit will help visitors understand how coastal wetlands protect water quality, fisheries, wildlife habitat, and coastal communities from flooding and storm impacts.

Registration for participants in the 2026 July 4th Parade is NOW OPEN! Visit visitbeaufortnc.com/parade-registration to sign up today!

The parade will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 4th. Registration closes at 11:45PM July 1st and line-up assignments will be shared via email on July 2nd.

Parade Registration requires a fee of $10 to help offset insurance costs associated with hosting this event. Attendance to this community event is free

SPELLING BEE 🐝 !!!! Huge shoutout to everyone who came to support ! We love this event and supporting the good work her and her dogs do to map and protect native bees! Big win for who doesn’t need glück when she’s got such smart brain! ☀️🤙🐝 thanks to ALL the participants cause it ain’t easy to get in front of a group of people and be vulnerable and brave.
