This past week, Courville's and our family were honored by the Loula Foundation šŸ’™

I’m still not quite sure how we measure up to an honor like this.

We are blessed to be part of a community full of really remarkable people doing really remarkable things. We’re not saving lives. We’re not performing brain surgery. We’re just cookin’.

But somewhere along the way, our family business became about a whole lot more than the job itself. It became about what we could do with it. We do food but we also do community, gathering, big love and lots of philanthropy. I often say we’ve gotta hustle our small business to feed our ā€œpeopleā€ habit. We love people, and we love our SETX! In all honestly, I think we wouldn’t still fight the good fight of ā€œsmall businessā€ if we couldn’t do the things we do in our community. It’s kind of our ā€œwhy.ā€

Loula shows up for our community in a much more direct and specialized way - walking beside families through recovery, rebuilding, resources, and reunification! And while the work may look very different, I don’t think our hearts are all that far apart.

At the end of the day, we both believe that people are worth showing up for - especially when life gets hard on ’em.

Courville’s exists because Southeast Texas has supported our family for generations. And because this community has poured into us, we’ve been given the opportunity to turn around and pour back into it.

We don’t jump into the things we do because we feel obligated to. We do it because, as humans and as Christians, we believe we’re called to show up for one another. We do the business stuff, so we can do the stuff we truly LOVE, which is showing up….

Because community changes outcomes. šŸ’™

People rarely make it through the hardest parts of life completely alone, and I think that may be one of the biggest beliefs Loula and our family share.

Loula is creating a support system around people who might otherwise fall through the cracks. They’re walking beside people during some of the hardest chapters of their lives and helping them find their way back to stability, back to their families, and in a way, back to a seat at a table that can stand the test of time. (If you know me, then you know I talk about my table often.) šŸ’›

Somewhere along the way, we’ve been given the opportunity to bring all kinds of things to other people’s tables - sometimes it’s food, but sometimes it’s community, laughter, friendship, comfort, hope, or simply the reminder that somebody showed up.

In our family, a table has never just been a place where people eat. It’s where people come together. It’s where we celebrate, grieve, laugh, reconnect, forgive, and sometimes begin again. It has been a symbol of hope for us - a big, full table of people that we love and who love us!

And when I look at the work Loula Foundation is doing, I think in many ways that’s exactly what they are helping people do - find their way back to their table. Back to their families. Back to stability. Back to believing that their story isn’t over and there is so much good ahead!

LIFE happens to people. Hard things happen to good people. Bad circumstances can find people with enormous potential. And sometimes what changes the entire direction of someone’s life is simply having somebody willing to stay beside them long enough to remind them that they are still worth fighting for.

What Loula Foundation does is specialized work that our family could never pretend to understand or replicate. But the belief behind that work feels deeply familiar to us.

People matter.
Families matter.
Community matters!!!

And sometimes the greatest thing we can do for another person is simply refuse to give up on them.

To be honored by an organization built on those same beliefs means more to our family than I can really put into words.

Thanks so much to our friends and family who attended this event tonight! We are truly, overwhelmingly blessed in every way possible!

Absolutely needed an easy evening tonight. šŸ˜…

Honey Garlic Pineapple Chicken over Jasmine Rice, the leftover salad I already had in the fridge…and dinner was DONE. Crock Pot and GO! šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

No extra grocery run. No elaborate sides. No standing in the kitchen trying to make Saturday night supper harder than it needs to be.

Even the tiniest critic approved. šŸ˜‚ā¤ļø

That’s why I love these Courville’s Market freezer meals so much. Some nights you can dress this one up with roasted veggies or turn it into a whole stir-fry situation with a vegetable medley… and some nights you serve it over rice with whatever you’ve already got and call it GOOD.

Tonight was definitely the latter — and every single person at my table cleaned their plate (including this cute dinner date) šŸ™ŒšŸ¼ šŸ’Æ

Courville's Market for the win! šŸ„‡

I just left the grocery store and I am here to tell you… ABSOLUTELY NOT. šŸ˜‚

It was hot. I was sweaty. People were everywhere. The aisles were packed. I couldn’t find half the stuff I needed, somebody was inevitably parked directly in front of whatever I was trying to grab, and by the time I got back to my car I was overstimulated, irritated and questioning every life choice that requires feeding people. 🤣

Which brings me to this week’s public service announcement: ORDER. THE. NO-COOK.

Save yourself the grocery store.
Save yourself the meal planning.
Save yourself the chopping, cooking, dishes.

This week we’ve got:

šŸ MONDAY 8/31
Cajun Chicken & Sausage Pasta
Roasted Broccoli
Garlic Knots
Death by Chocolate
Family $68 | Couple $34

šŸ„— Or grab a Courville’s Cobb Salad + JalapeƱo Ranch — $15

🌮 WEDNESDAY 9/2
Smoked Brisket Enchiladas
Cilantro Lime Rice
Borracho Beans
Elotes Corn Salad
Sopapilla Cheesecake
Family $92 | Couple $46

šŸ„— Or Balsamic Grilled Chicken Caprese Salad + Balsamic Vinaigrette — $15

Meals are picked up HOT and ready to eat from 3:00–6:30 PM.

I have officially been reminded why No-Cook exists. šŸ˜‚ Y’all order supper and let US deal with the grocery-store s**t show. šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

Lemme tell y’all somethin’ right now…

If you missed Thursday night’s Trio Song Swap with Ashton Naylor, Hank Weaver & Cameron Allbright, you missed a little glimpse into the future of country music. šŸ”„ And I’m absolutely including our opener, Tyson Webb in that statement as well!

I have received SO MUCH feedback about how much everyone enjoyed this show - and truthfully, these are the nights that pull us in.

This is how Courville’s Concert Series started. Bringing in artists you may not know yet. Giving them a room, a stage and an audience willing to listen. Then getting to sit back and watch where they go from here.

There’s something pretty dang special about seeing somebody before everybody knows their name. We’re going to be doing some bragging about seeing these three right here in our little room. ā¤ļø

Ashton, Hank & Cameron - come back soon! We loved having y’all, and we can’t wait to see where y’all take this thing. šŸ¤˜šŸ¼šŸŽ¶

Shoutout to the LU Tailgate crew for snagging some dip samplers for their tailgate tent today! ā¤ļøšŸˆ We LOVE knowing y’all are lovin’ that dip fridge!

We’ve seen lots of stories today with Courville’s chicken salad + dips making appearances on sidelines, at tailgates and all around game day — and that makes us so dang happy! 🄹

Thank y’all for continuing to support us and include Courville’s in all your weekend fun!

And YES — the dip fridge is FULLY STOCKED! šŸ™Œ Come snag your favorites before they disappear!

Saturday breakfast looks REAL good around here! šŸ³šŸ„“ā˜•ļø

Join us once again this Saturday (our plan is for every Saturday moving forward) for our Breakfast Buffet from 7am–11am and load up on all the good stuff — scrambled eggs, bacon, maple sausage, biscuits & gravy, country potatoes, hashbrowns, cinnamon rolls, and our breakfast taco bar!

And for those of y’all who want to take a little breakfast joy home with you… we’ll be selling our cinnamon rolls by the half dozen or dozen so you can grab some for the week! šŸ¤ŒšŸ¼

Specialty drinks, cold coffees, eggs to order & avocado toast will be available, aside from the best dang breakfast buffet in the county! (IYKYK) 🤤

Still changing things up, figuring out what works best for y'all and us! Bring your patience and grace, friends! We'll get it all settled eventually.

Come hungry and bring your people — Saturday breakfast at Courville’s is always a good idea!

A little more from last night. šŸ·āœØ

Retirement Financial Group hosted a beautiful wine pairing for some of their clients, featuring an incredible selection from William Chris Vineyards - and we got to create the food to go with it.

Butter-poached shrimp, smoked salmon, crispy brie & apple bites, wild mushroom tartlets, whipped goat cheese crostini, beef tenderloin toasts, chocolate truffle tartlets and all the little extras that make a grazing table feel special.

Good wine, good food, good people…that’s where the magic happens. ✨

So proud of my staff on this one. We LOVE getting to show off a little when fun projects like this come our way. šŸ¤Ž

Thank you, RFG, for trusting Courville’s to be part of it!

Let’s talk about last night. šŸ·āœØ

Retirement Financial Group hosted a beautiful wine pairing for a handful of their wonderful clients, and I’m forever impressed by the way these people take care of their folks. They truly know how to make people feel appreciated! I really love being a part of that.

They brought in an incredible selection of wines from William Chris Vineyards, and we were honored to be asked to create one of our wine-pairing grazing tables to complement each pour.

The menu was built around some really special bites — butter-poached shrimp spoons, prosciutto-wrapped pears, smoked salmon cucumber rounds, crispy brie & apple bites, wild mushroom tartlets, whipped goat cheese crostini, seared beef tenderloin toasts and dark chocolate truffle tartlets — all paired with cheeses, fruits, preserves, nuts, olives and other little details chosen to complement each wine.

And y’all… when beautiful wine, thoughtfully paired food and a room full of good people all come together, the rest is magic. ✨

We absolutely love getting to create experiences like this. Thank you, RFG for trusting Courville’s to be a part of such a special evening. šŸ·šŸ¤Ž

Extra extra impressed with my staff on this one! We LOVE showcasing our skills for fun projects like this!
