🇫🇷🍇 If you love bold reds with a little French je ne sais quoi, meet your new favorite blend: GSM!

From the everyday elegance of Cotes du Rhone to the legendary prestige of Chateauneuf du Pape, Southern Rhone is home to some of our favorite French reds. And for good reason!

✨ So, what makes GSM blends so special?

GSM stands for Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Three grapes that each bring something unique to the glass:

🍓 Grenache: Juicy red berries, ripe strawberries, and warmth.

🫐 Syrah: Dark fruit, black pepper, and structure.

🌿 Mourvedre: Savory herbs, earthy depth, and firm tannins.

Together? A beautiful balance of fruit, spice, and complexity that makes these w**es incredibly food friendly.

🍽️ The pairings?

Grilled lamb, steak, roasted chicken, charcuterie, Mediterranean herbs, and aged cheeses. These w**es were practically made for your fall table!

🍷 Why do we use different w**e glass shapes at Bon Vivant?

One of the questions we get asked most often!

The answer: the shape of the glass changes the way you experience the w**e.

At Bon Vivant, we keep a range of glassware on hand- from Ch*****ne flutes and coupes to aperitif and dessert glasses, Burgundy stems, and universal w**e glasses. Because different w**es can benefit from different shapes.

🍷 What about the “fishbowl” glasses? I want one!

Those large Burgundy glasses you see us using are designed with Pinot Noir and other medium-bodied reds in mind. The generous bowl gives the w**e more surface area, encouraging it to open and allowing aromas to collect in the glass.

The shape also influences how the w**e reaches your palate, which can change the way you perceive its fruit, acidity, texture, and finish. In short, it makes your w**e more complex.

And we don’t stop there.

We also love this style of glass for medium-plus-bodied white w**es, especially Chardonnay, as well as very aged reds and even Ch*****ne.
