A trip to a noted Virginia dahlia grower in 2014 first captured my imagination and got me interested in selling flowers to local florists. It took a few years to get ready to grow professionally, but once we started our farm one of the first growing areas we laid out were the dahlia beds. Learning what grew and sold best took a few years, but Iā€™ve settled on Peaches as my number one dahlia crop. Itā€™s productive and never fails to be absolutely gorgeous. We now have almost half our growing area in this variety.

We donā€™t do many weddings, in fact we only do them for people we know. Iā€™m in awe of flower farmers who do all the business of growing plus the business of weddings.

This was the celebration of a friend who weā€™ve know since she and Claire were little girls. It was such a pleasure to be involved in her joyous wedding day.

Whenever people stop by to see the farm they ask if I have help. Yes! I could never operate without my absolutely fabulous crew. We had a rare day yesterday with all of us together (and it was a hot one!)
Iā€™m grateful to these women who work so hard in all weather to plant, harvest, w**d, deliver and do bed prep for all our beautiful flowers. You are amazing!!

Rock and River Flower Collectiveā€”these are the amazing humans I work with everyday. Weā€™ve been selling together for several years and I admire and appreciate each one of them. We text at 10 at night (or later) and 5am (sometimes earlier) and are on our flower growing journey together šŸ„°šŸŒøšŸ’•Our flowers are available to florists and designers in DC, VA, MD and WV.
