Farm phone at 9:01 AM: “Do you have Hoods?”

Yes.

We love Hoods as much as everyone else, but they’re not the only strawberry worth getting excited about.
Throughout the season we grow several varieties, including Hood, Puget Crimson, Tillamook, Mary’s Peak, Albion, and our newest variety, Finnito—one of the newest strawberries being grown in Oregon.

And dare we say it... we’re starting to like Finnito even more than Hoods.

Every variety has its own flavor, texture, and sweetness, which is part of what makes strawberry season so much fun. Not every variety is available every day, which is why we always encourage people to try something new when they visit the farm.

So next time you’re here, pick up a basket of a variety you’ve never tried before. You might just discover a new favorite.

(And yes, we’ll still answer the Hood questions all day long. 😉🍓)

🍓 Weekend Crop Update 🍓

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to pick strawberries, this is it!

The next 10 days are shaping up to be some of the best picking of the season. The berries are looking beautiful, there is lots of fruit throughout the fields, and our pickers have been very successful this week.

As always, strawberry picking is a little bit of work, but there is plenty of fruit out there and we highly recommend coming out over the next week and a half to get your berries while conditions are at their peak.

Not interested in picking? We’ll also have plenty of ready-picked strawberries available in the farm store. If you’re looking for a specific variety, we always recommend calling ahead for same-day reservations, as some varieties can sell out quickly.

And while you’re here, be sure to treat yourself! We’ll have milkshakes, freshly baked pies, and our homemade shortcake available all weekend long—the perfect pairing for fresh strawberries.

The farm store is open from 9am–6pm, our train starts running at 10am, and the last ride leaves at 5:45pm.

We can’t wait to see you at the farm this weekend!

Fresh-picked berries are more delicate than most people realize 🍓

A few simple storage tips can help them last so much longer:
• Refrigerate them as soon as possible
• Don’t wash until you’re ready to eat them
• Keep them dry while storing
• Avoid trapping extra moisture in tightly sealed containers
• Remove damaged berries early so they don’t affect the rest
• Softer berries tend to store better in shallow containers where they aren’t piled too deeply or getting squished under the weight of other berries.

Fresh berries are delicate, but with a little extra care they stay beautiful (and delicious) much longer.

What a fun opening weekend on the farm 🍓 Thank you all for coming out!

There’s still fruit to pick, but the cooler weather and rain have slowed ripening a bit. The good news — with sunshine in the forecast, we expect the fields to really bounce back later this week and into the weekend ☀️

After busy weekends, the berries always enjoy a few quiet days to ripen, but if you’re hoping to come out for the experience, there’s still picking to be had!

In the store we currently have lots of Tillamooks available, along with a few Hoods. If you’re looking for a specific variety, give us a call before heading out — popular varieties like Hoods sell out quickly and we can do same-day reservations.

Open Tuesday–Sunday | 9am–6pm
Fields close at 5:30pm
Train rides daily from 10am–5:45pm (break from 12:30–1pm)

See you on the farm for another beautiful week 💛

A little update to our Summer Concert Series lineup!

Due to a scheduling conflict, Trent Beaver will no longer be able to join us on June 26th. While we’ll miss having him on the farm this summer, we’re excited to share that one of our favorite returning musicians, , will now be kicking off our concert series!

We’re so excited to welcome Robert back to the farm for what is sure to be a fun summer evening filled with great music, good food, and community.

We can’t believe we’re already just ONE month away from our first Friday Night on the Farm concert of the season.

Mark your calendars for June 26th from 6–8 PM, grab your blankets and lawn chairs, and get ready for another great summer on the farm.

Happy Sunday and happy last day of opening weekend!

It has been such a great weekend on the farm and we have loved welcoming everyone back for another berry season. Thank you all so much for the support, excitement, and patience during such a busy opening weekend.

We are open today from 9AM–6PM, with our U-Pick fields closing at 5:30PM. While yesterday was very busy and we are not quite at peak season yet, we still have plenty of beautiful berries available for U-Pick today. We do anticipate the next two weekends being our peak strawberry picking weekends.

In the market today we have our wonderful Tillamook and Albion strawberries available ready-picked. Both varieties are excellent for fresh eating, baking, and making jam. If you haven’t tried our Tillamook variety before, be sure to ask for a sample when you visit!

We will not have Hood strawberries available for ready-picked purchase today, they will ripen this week and we will give you and update on when we will have them back in the market this week. We do still have Hood strawberries available for U-Pick in the fields today.

U-Pick strawberries are $2.50/lb.

Come enjoy another beautiful day on the farm with fresh berries, pies, train rides, and time spent together outdoors. We can’t wait to see you all soon.

Well… you all officially showed UP for opening weekend! 🍓

Thank you so much to everyone who came out today for our Strawberry U-Pick opening. It was such a beautiful day on the farm and we are incredibly grateful for the support, excitement, and patience as we worked through the long lines and busy crowds throughout the day.

And yes… for anyone wondering, we ARE still open for U-Pick! We had prepared carts full of picking boxes before opening this morning and they were gone within 25 minutes. Safe to say berry season is officially here.

Have no fear we have lots more boxes and buckets to pick in when you come this season for picking.

As a reminder, this weekend is considered early picking conditions. We still expect the last weekend of May and first weekend of June to be our peak picking weekends (weather dependent), but there are still plenty of beautiful berries in the fields and more continue to ripen every day.

We will be open again tomorrow, Sunday May 24th, from 9AM–6PM for both U-Pick and our farm store. We’ll also have ready-picked strawberries, fresh baked pies, local produce, train rides, the playground, and more.

Thank you again for spending your Saturday with us and kicking off another berry season on the farm. ❤️
