Before I do a video of how I evaluate older babies I went through them last week and got some updated pictures and thought we could play a game. Who would you keep and why? How would you place them? As of right now all are staying to grow up a bit more but one or two may end up leaving if I don’t feel they’ll benefit me.

Well we went through the satin babies today and I figured I could do a somewhat evaluation video on them at this age I don’t do much mostly just practice for the babies when it comes to handling and posing. I don’t make any culling decisions at this age unless they have something very obvious up with them. I mainly just sort through boys and girls and mark them if they haven’t previously been.

Sorry been a little sick and busy with life but things have been happening over here! We weaned the satin babies and will really be going through them this weekend. Grandmas black doe she kept out of Leias first litter had 6 babies yesterday and my new broken doe I got just before fair had a litter of 7 looks like 3 spotted patterns and 4 solids super excited for these babies!

We got show results back the other day from the Lapeer show. We took 5 rabbits 4 reds and grandma had a white. Placings were as follows:

Show A under Rebecca Lilly-
AW1CC4 Intermediate doe 1/4
AKB63 Eeyore/Droopy jr buck 1/4 BOSV! No leg
S268 Jr doe 3/3
AKD65 jr doe 2/3

Whites-
AKD64 jr doe 4/4

Show B under Sandy Doyle-
AW1CC4 intermediate doe 1/4 BOV Leg #2

I do remember the first judge absolutely loved the junior class and so proud of my homegrowns first leg I’ve ever gotten on a Junior that I bred these guys were all only about 3- 3 1/2 months as well.

We did go to the Imlay City Show on Saturday but I did terribly on remembering placings as S&S Family Rabbitry was helping her niece and nephew show so I was also putting her rabbits on the tables and looking at her list to make sure the right ones got up. I do know that we both did quite well and our rabbits kind of flip flopped for the show I do know my AW doe got BOV show b. I will add placings when we get them! Thank you S&S for bringing me and helping fill classes!

With the cooler weather yesterday we got some does bred and some rebred that didn’t take the last time. Crossing our fingers that the boys aren’t heat sterile… but we bred AKS Tefiti to AKS Eeyore, Rockstars Venus to AKS Eeyore, my new broken doe to Case’s Mater and grandma bred her black doe to her white satin buck milkyway. So if you’re wanting brokens be on the lookout. Also updated pics of the satin babies cause they’re adorable!

Well that’s not supposed to be there… gotta love when genetics throw a curveball excited to see these babies grown.
