🥹 Cuteness overload!

Thursday night, as I was getting my own kids ready for bed, I check my cameras and there was Blackie, slipping into labor. With no extra hands around, I packed the kiddos up and we all headed to the barn - at bedtime. I got to Blackie just as she was pushing the first baby out. It didn't take her long to deliver and move on to the second one. An easy delivery with 2 large babies - a buck and doe.

The girls have named them, and I keep telling myself I don't need any more goats! They keep giving me reasons why they each need their own goat 😂

Kid watch again today! Blackie's due date was yesterday, but she only started to fill her udder last night. This morning...

Kid watch again today! Blackie's due date was yesterday, but she only started to fill her udder last night. This morning it was much fuller, but not quite there yet. Ligaments are soft, she's definitely prepping for labor today. I'm so excited to see what her kids look like. It will be the first set from our new buck K&H GOATS C.F. TOBIAS. I most likely won't be keeping any (I absolutely shouldn't!), so they will be up for grabs in the coming weeks.

Blackie will be the last Nubian to kid this spring. Due next month, and the last doe of the season, will be K&H GOATS A.L. DANDELION, the first Alpine to kid here! It will be such a change from seeing the usual floppy-eared babies, but I'm ready for this change! Seeing my Alpines grow and mature over the last year has made me want to expand even more. I still love my Nubians, but have room in my heart for both kinds ❤️
