Nothing like spending the evening putting in a few fence posts! (Hubby had to double check the posts are straight 🀭🀭) Getting closer to being done! ☺️☺️ The girls are anxious to get out and enjoy the fresh grass. And the pineapple tomatoe plants are enjoying the weather! 😁😁

Let's shed some new light in our old house! Happy to have one of our chandeliers up! ☺️☺️

Attempted to make rhubarb upside down cake...well its more like rhubarb cobbler cuz someone didn't follow the recipe and added extra rhubarb. This girl πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ πŸ˜… it tastes delicious and is hard to stay out of. Rua had to supervise the tasting of it πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

On to working on my plastic canvas project and cuddling with the boys πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

The girls are doing better. They are eating more and actually ate treats out of my hand today. This hasn't happened since we moved!! 😁😁 hoping to find a man for Marta in the fall...so we can have baby(ies) in the spring!

Currently enjoying listening to a hoot owl and a few cows while the dogs aka boys inspect their yard πŸ˜…πŸ˜… its wonderful to only hear the traffic in the distance 😊😊

We are going to be starting the wooden fencing and barn for the goats soon as we have our permit. Cant wait!

Today has been a busy one thus far. Worked on starting our dead hedge with tree trimmings and brush. Has anyone else ever made one? Dead hedges have been used as a natural barrier historically for many years. And I feel it will be a nice addition to the side of our yard for the birds and little critters to enjoy. The ground hog might have a few swear words for me though (blocked his access to the field 🀭) and I found that we have wild raspberry bushes near there!

It felt good to be outside in the sun enjoying the fresh air. Hubby had the fun part of getting our other yard tools in working order.

Sending Easter blessings and love! The girls were not interested in photos due to the rain. They are not fans of getting wet! Not even for treats πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

The girls would rather be at the house with me than penned up. They both started talking to me when I left after feeding time, letting me know...sorry girls, you are too big to be inside goats! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ I'm starting to wonder if they view me as the new herd boss...πŸ€”πŸ€”

Its been a week since Esther got out. I wish I could report she has returned or been returned to us. I keep looking for her. All I can do is hope someone found her and is caring for her. We appreciate all the continued prayers.

Its been a hard week. Marta decided to go through the electrified rope fence again so we had to quickly put up another fence. I have learned another harsh lesson. You cant teach an old goat a new fence. We will be working on building a wooden one as soon as we can.

On a nice note, the rhubarb from my great-pap's farm, now my mimi's, has returned! Hope to have a big patch like hers someday 😊 the brick wall is to protect it from the wild furry heathens I call dogs 🀣 most of the trees we planted and berry bushes are returning. The grapes dont look like they made it.

I debated posting this. However, I feel it is important to keep my page truthful as we make our journey into our new life.

My goats were raised in a wooden fence with a wooden barn/shed. Unfortunately, we do not have that currently, so we have to use electric fencing. Despite taking precautions and monitoring, at some point during the night/early morning Saturday, Esther aka Mother got out. She broke part of the fence. And we have not found her. I am beyond devastated. 😒😒

I am hopeful someone in Dutch Corner Bedford County finds her and we can get her back. But as we are surrounded by farmland and woods...I have to be realistic. Esther is one of my first goats that I purchased when I was able to get back into farming (more hobby for me) and she always talks to me...she thinks I am one of her babies. Esther also likes to tell it like it is.

That being said, in the photo of all the goats, she is the far left goat. She has wattles and is a Lamancha which means tiny gopher ears. The others are her daughters and are having difficulty adjusting to not having their herd boss. PLEASE SHARE and keep us in your prayers!! πŸ™ πŸ™ I cannot give up yet as she is one of my kids.
