One of my biggest pet peeves?

Sitting down at a restaurant…
opening the wine list…
and seeing the same wines I see everywhere else.

There are so many incredible wines out there—
thoughtfully made, beautifully priced, and far more interesting—
that never make it onto a list.

A great wine program shouldn’t feel copied and pasted.
It should feel curated. Intentional. Memorable.

Ever picked up a bottle of wine and thought…
“what am I actually looking at here?” 👀

You’re not alone.

Every single thing on that label—front AND back—has a purpose.
And most of it isn’t marketing… it’s regulation.

That tiny alcohol %? → taxes
That warning label? → required by law
That random code you’ve never noticed? → traceability

It may look simple…
but every detail is there for a reason 🍷

The rest… is a lot of paperwork.

And if that part isn’t done right, the wine never makes it to the table.

I’ve spent more time than I can count working through TTB licensing, label approvals, and all the state-by-state requirements—and it’s not always straightforward.

It’s a part of the business I know well—and one I’m looking forward to focusing on more.

Uncorked – Business Evolution Announcement --

Over the past 13+ years, Uncorked has been such an important part of my life—building relationships, discovering incredible wines, and working alongside so many talented people across the industry.

As the business has grown, so has my perspective on where I can add the most value.

I’ve found that what clients often need isn’t just great wine—they need guidance. Whether it’s building a wine program, navigating compliance, or figuring out how to move confidently into new markets, those are the conversations I’ve been having more and more.

So, I’m excited to share that Uncorked is evolving to reflect that.

As part of this evolution, I’m beginning a transition away from distribution and toward a more focused role in consulting and compliance advisory—working with wineries, importers, restaurants, and retailers to bring both clarity and confidence to the process of getting wine to market.

This feels like a very natural next step, building on the experience and relationships developed over the years, while allowing me to support clients in a more strategic and flexible way.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything Uncorked has been—and I’m excited to continue building on that foundation in a new and more focused way.
