Our third heifer is about as delicate (hence the song choice) and feminine as they come. She has a beautiful silhouette and is getting stouter every day. Her mother (Conley S Sis Sandy x SAV Bismark) was purchased from the 2024 SSF sale bred to SSF herd sire Conley Manaco, both are pictured. Already broke to lead, tie, wash, dry and clip she will be a great 4H project.

Next up is one that we’ve been excited about since we bought her mother in the 2024 Dameron Angus sale. Last year, Ryan and I sat down and talked about what farms we wanted to visit and programs we wanted to build and select females from, Dameron was one of them. This heifer stems back to the mother of First Class, First Impression and so many other notable champions. With Turning Point as her sire she’s putting together a pretty complete package both genetically and phenotypically.

Leading off our heifer group this year is arguably the favorite in the barn. She’s fancy, stout and hairy. Already broke to lead and tie. She’s been washed, dried and clipped. She’s not named yet, but she could be real soon. She’s a Sim Solution by Bet on Red and a Charolais/Maine cross cow. She looks better on the move than she does standing still and if the right family doesn’t take her, she will be staying in the herd.

First couple of show/replacement heifers weaned for the year. They are learning from the pros (aka Debbie and Georgia) before the big girls get turned out to pasture. SAV Stellar - herd sire of Otis Family Farms. We’ve been impressed with this Sitz Stellar son for consistently producing lively, small calves with good growth, which carry on maternal and moderate traits. Progeny includes bulls sold in the SIAA spring sale, freezer beef & heifers kept and sold as replacements. We are excited to see the first heifer kept out of him calving this fall. Previously owned in partnership with Todd & Craig Angus.
