Wow what a weekend! I know I'll remember my 1st trip to the Young Guns sale for awhile. 🤣
From getting in with my ride at Decatur, Ia to making it to Lebo, Ks thinking the pickup was going to fall apart and blow up. We went from trucking along at 85-90 to about 65 the rest of the way. Destination time was arriving in San Angelo by 1:30am Friday am. We ended up there about 4:30am, but by god we made it! 🤦♂️🤣 Unloaded took care of trailer lambs, chored the sale lambs then went to the hotel about 5:30am OH WAIT... Someone with us lives on the edge and didn't book one. We'll just call and slide right in. Little did we know Angelo State University graduation was this past weekend. We called 12 hotels all full. 😳 Finally found one called Inn of the Concho. Nice Guy waived early check in. Welp it is what it is. A bed, hot water and a running toilet perfect. Let's get some 😴 finally at 6am. 🤪
I got to experience visiting the Neff ranch really nice place. Watched some of the Morning Of sale for Neff and MacLennan club lambs. Visited the Blue Bloods sale in Miles, TX.
Met some new people visited with old friends. Our ram/wether option went to a really good home down by Houston. They do a really good job and I even seen that family on banners on other breeders display signs. 👍
I drove home got dropped off and unloaded about 5:45pm last night. It's a LONG OL TRIP, but one I'll never forget! Thanks to Karr Club Lambs, Troy Schilder, Chad Roberts, Cohen Roberts for inviting me to go. We laughed so hard at times on our trip that I think Chad was going to pull over, because he couldn't see the road. I tried to make the best of it while driving 65mph down the interstate with ohhh about 10 hours of driving left after truck decided to be mad at us. 🤣 Now 🤞 our fingers in hopes of a good flush day tomorrow at Burch's. Tomorrow will finish a BUSY spring for Jonda and I. Then get caught up around the farm, attend a few lamb jackpots and get ready for July fairs, and A.I.
