Merry Christmas y'all!

Meesh and I want to pass along this great little place we found that all the locals go to in Beebe, AR, named Martha Jeans Diner LLC.

First off, they have some great home cooking favorites for sure! They also have daily specials (see picture) and a table menu of sandwiches, entrees, and some yummy breakfast options!

Food:
Meesh had the quarter-pound cheeseburger. I had the Saturday daily special of a flat iron steak and sides of homemade potato salad and fried squash. All was very good and seasoned well.

Atmosphere:
Seat yourself at open tables, and the place was all decked out for Christmas.

Service:
They were quick to greet you with a smile and take your order. Food came quick and hot.

They are open 7a till 3p , so if you're in the area please give them a try.

What does a one-eyed Sunday school teacher and fried catfish have in common?

Give up?? The Answer is: Buns
specificallly.....Smokin' Buns BBQ & Catfish. This is a MUST-GO-TO place anytime you're near!

Atmosphere:
Very relaxed, soft overhead "old school" country music, and great rustic decorations. They have tables and booths available and even a little larger party room area.

Food:
This time we ordered fried catfish and shrimp plates. Honestly, this is our #1 place for great catfish and BBQ in Central Arkansas. Just look at the picture of how big a filet is! When you bite into one of their filets, it is heavenly! Crispy on the outside, hot and delicious on the inside. The Fried Shrimp was equally delicious as well. And as always their coleslaw and baked beans were on point.

Service:
We are always greated with a "hey y'all" and a smile 😁! They check on you often and our drink glasses never go past half full.

Give 'em a try in person or do their curbside option. You won't be disappointed.
....anything else to add Steve Jenkins?

It’s Fri-Yeah and we headed to one of our favorite places to eat in Maumelle….Marty’s Place!

Atmosphere:
A great low key vibe, dimmed lights, colorful jazz paintings. Soft overhead music so you can still chat. Oh, and a Full bar as well with some great drink specials.

Food:
We settled on their salmon and Meesh had their fried chicken. The chef just inherently does a great job in all the dishes we have tried…especially these two….perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portion size is just right.

Service:
Always friendly and very attentive. We’ve seen the same servers for a long time now which to us is a testament to a well run business.

Please check them out!

Today we are at another one of our
go-to places for Italian food. Roma Italian Restaurant.

Food.
They start you off with their handmade rolls with olive oil and roasted garlic dipping sauce (see pic). Y’all those rolls…..so yummy.

We split a house salad and their “house dressing” is a marinara based Italian. You have to at least try it. With portions large enough to share, we decided to split the Chicken Milano ( see pic of menu).

Service:
Most of the servers have been here for years…and ever so often we do see a new face. These individuals are at the top of their craft. From the moment you walk in and are greeted, to seeing them collaborate with each other when they are taking care of not only their tables but all patrons…..you feel as though your “home” and now apart of the Roma “la famiglia”

Atmosphere.
Authentic Italian music overhead. The rumble of conversation among patrons. Italian arches and artwork throughout. Very relaxed and comfortable.

Please give them a try the next time you are wanting really good authentic Italian food. You won’t be disappointed.

We’re at a very special place for dinner…The Grumpy Rabbit in Lonoke, AR. It’s small town meets upscale New York fine dining. This is probably one of our top three places to eat…period.

Food:
We ordered the black eyed pea hummus appetizer to start. The portion was huge. Just scrumptious!

For the main course, Meesh got the Blackened Chicken Alfredo and I got the Blackened Redfish. It’s just shame your phone doesn’t have smell-a-vision cause you’d be getting in your car and heading down here!

Just be patient when you order…these dishes are made with that deep Southern Grandma’s touch and that takes time to make sure the taste and flavors come shining through on each bite.

Atmosphere:
It’s located in an old store front on Hwy 70. The inside has been redone so cute! They even have a huge back patio area. Such a fun vibe going on.

Service
Top Notch! The “best of the best” from Lonoke are here with great big smiles and so very friendly.

Be sure and check them out!

Hello! I’m bringing y’all news about a real special place today that Meesh and I stop by when we are anywhere close. Lilliehobbs Mercantile just north of Harrison, AR on Hwy 65 before you get to Branson, MO.

I swear, it’s like Meesh’s and my moms and grandmas are in the kitchen making the food because it has so much flavor and made with love. Oh, they also have an upscale store on the other side with a lot of handmade local artisan items.

Food.
We split the Cuban sandwich and a cup of chicken chowder. Look at those pics, they don’t do justice to the taste….so very yummy. Even the sourdough bread was just like mom made.

Atmosphere
Very laid back. There is an area to sit and eat. Then there are the desserts. OMH (oh my heavens) the desserts. Good luck getting out of there without at least getting something.

Service
Is always spot on….they are always hustling food out and checking on you and your drink level. Love that about them.

So on your next trip to Branson be sure and make this apart of your lunch or breakfast plans’m

It’s Friday and the weekend has begun (hallelujah) and you sure don’t need to cook, we sure ain’t. So head to Deer Creek FireStone Grill. in Cabot, AR. The parking lot is always full and sometimes a wait to get in, but, please don’t let that deter you from going. It’s well worth it.

Food:
To start we ordered their fried mushrooms appetizer. You get a huge portion. The shrooms had a thin and crispy batter and came with a side of ranch. Meesh and I are still puzzled on how that batter coating could be so thin yet crispy at the same time. That’s some Chef magic I tell ya. Yums!

For the entree we split a country fried steak with two sides. …..y’all, the steak, perfectly seasoned and we cut it with our forks! Kudos to the chef and fry cooks!

Atmosohere:
It’s a packed place. Lots of great chatter. They also have a full bar, large screen tvs.

Service:
Great as always! They check on you often, and they hustle from table to table.

Oh, I believe this place and Purple Onion that’s also in Cabot are owned by the same people. Both place sure have food, atmosphere and service down to an art form.

Happy Independence Day everyone!

We wanted to pass along this little “Gem” of a place in Cabot, AR. - Chef Candace.

Food:
It’s a “walkup and order” type setup with a menu board and great array of fresh to order wraps and salad choices! We both settled on a lunch combo. I got the chicken bacon ranch wrap, pasta, and kettle chips. Meesh got the nacho wrap, strawberry chicken salad. Both were great tasing! Oh, they also have a cooler to the right of the order counter of take and bake items. Did I mention desserts? Check out the pics, wowza!

Atmosphere/Service:
The food was ready in a few minutes after ordering. The room was a nice, big open space. The staff was very friendly and quick on their feet.

Check them out next time you’re in the area during lunch.

We are back at one of our favorite places in Greers ferry. The Boar House. Meesh got the bbq sundae and I got the baked potatoe spud. I told our server to surprise me on the meat for my spud…And I got their smoked chicken. Y’all…that chicken…dang…..melt in your mouth and smoky, juicy goodness! They are open till 9 today, so you have plenty of time to head this way.

Meesh and I have an answer to your weekend’s question of…”where do we want to go eat, hun?” Get in your vehicle, and say….”Navigate to Purple Onion in Cabot, AR. “

Food:
They have….well….everything! Lunch menu, Dinner menu, even a brunch menu on the weekends. (see pics of the menu) Flavors ranging from American, Cajun, Seafood. We had a cup of the crawfish étouffée as an appetizer and it was delish! I had the Swamp basket and Meesh had the country fried steak. All was great tasting, very balanced seasoning. I loved the little pop-able hush puppies.

I’m always a little timid when a place has so many choices, but based upon our experience and the many types of great looking dishes we saw, and the full and happy crowds coming in and out…I was not timid long.

Atmosphere:
It’s a simple layout, booths and tables. Low overhead music, TVs on the walls, a bar area with bigger TVs. You would think that’s a-lot going on…but it’s really not, it all kinda blends together.

Service:
Had a great server, checked on us often. Food came quick and hot. Oh, I overheard our server handle a situation with the guest behind us very professionally. Kudos to her years of experience in the business.

Please put this place in your rotation of great places to eat.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

If you’re ever in the Batesville, AR area, head on over to the Main Street area and visit BIG'S of Batesville. A wonderful spot for lunch or dinner.

Food:
Meesh and I kept it light yesterday and split an Auntie panini (see menu pics)
we also switched up the bread to sourdough. It was such a great blend of flavors.

The sides stole the show though.
Side #1 were their homemade house chips, these are perfectly fried and salted. We usually get a Togo order of just those.
Side # 2 was their pasta salad, the key on this side we noticed was they keep the bell peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes diced and small and just enough Italian style dressing for a great flavor.

Atmosphere:
Their location is an old historic storefront, open space, original wood flooring, such a great vibe of Main Street America.

Service:
Was on point, ever attentive, even offered Togo drinks of our tea we were drinking.

Have a great day y’all! Like and follow for more.
