Our Story

New Moon Farm's mission is to enhance the lives of individuals through equine activities. NMF believes that horses can encourage confidence, promote healing, and empower individuals to grow in their own personal journeys that life bestows on them.

New Moon Farm, LLC is a privately owned and operated lesson program and boarding stable located in Beech Island SC. The farm was formerly named Little Nugget Farm, which stemmed from a nickname given to me(Robin) when I worked at a dance studio in Evans with my husband, Yun. We previously came from a small 4 acre farm in Aiken, SC and decided that we had quickly outgrown the 4 acres in just a couple of years. My Dad found a random FSBO ad of 44 acres for sale in Beech Island, SC. Within days, an offer was made and we were now the proud owners of 44 acres, which was later subdivided when Yun’s brother purchased 14 acres from us. We scored big time, on 25+ acres of lush coastal Bermuda hay field. Within months we had already built our first small pasture and staked out our home to be, all with the assistance of my Dad. They broke ground on our home April 10th, my birthday! In May, my Dad traumatically passed away. My world was shaken, but I turned to my faith, family, and horses. Struggling to fight depression after my Dads passing, I found the healing in horses and the farm. In 2017, Yun and I began our journey of building our barn. From May-November we worked daily on the building that has become a refuge to me. I learned so much about my journey through the process of building the barn. I spent many hours, alone, staining every piece of board. I can hear my Dad now, fussing at every little thing he thought we might have been doing wrong in the construction. He was definitely a little bit of a know it all with construction, and although it annoyed me, I so appreciated all of the projects we did together before his passing. When I am missing my Dad, I can look out of my window and see how he helped build the property of my dreams. Even in the areas he hasn’t physically touched. My Dad LOVED a full moon. He would spend hours outside under a full moon just soaking up it’s radiance. I have the perfect view from my bedroom window of the moon. Every month, when the full moon is visible, I think of how much I miss him. Since his passing, I have had the desire to turn my pain into something good. The best way I know how to do that is through my horses and my farm. I have had the desire to start a therapeutic riding center since his passing, and although we are not quite to that point yet, we are taking baby steps that direction. This past summer, with the help of my best friend, I started day horse camps for children 5-15 years old. It took off great and we have continued to run one a month. I have also started accepting students for private and semi-private lessons. I decided to change the name of the farm to New Moon Farm to represent a new start and a fresh beginning. Not just for me, but for anyone who needs a new start or healing through horses. Ultimately, I know my blessings come from God, and I am so thankful for everything He has given to my family and I. I am so excited to see where this journey leads us. Full Pasture Board - $350 • Daily feeding: Hay (or pasture during summer months) and grain(will be provided by NMF) in amounts appropriate for the optimal health of the individual horse. Supplements (purchased by owner) can be added to feeding with instruction for administration. •Fresh water will be available at all times. •Horse(s) will be blanketed as needed.

The farm sits on 30 beautiful acres, with lush beautiful coastal Bermuda grass. RAMM fencing is used for all horse pastures. Four stall center isle barn with center isle newly built in 2017. Boarders have access to a tack room and wash rack within the barn. 20x40 dressage ring newly installed in 2018. Enclosed jump ring installed in 2019. Boarders have riding access to all of NMF property, as well as another 114 neighboring acres. Access to trails & dirt roads on neighboring property.

Lessons: $190.00 paid upfront in cash, check or Credit Card (upon request. Please note there is a 3% charge for credit cards). See lesson payment and cancellation policies here. Must be used within a 3 month period. Semi private lessons includes up to 3 students and will typically have longer ride times.
