We had the chance to see Common Ground today while he continues to stand active at Sterling Sire Services, they are shipping fresh semen coast to coast and will continue to bank frozen semen on him.

Thinking through recent conversations with other breeders one thing has become crystal clear...….Common Ground and his Sire Wipe Out’s crazy good fertility is as important as their pedigree and phenotype. In today’s sheep industry, that’s becoming more valuable than ever. Too many bucks look the part but can’t consistently get ewes settled when it matters most.

On top of that physically, he’s turned into even more of a stud as he’s approaching nine months of age.

From day one, we believed in his elite skeletal quality, extra white-featured, athletic mobility, and incredible stifle shape. What really impressed us today is how aggressive his rack stands up. The top side of his skeleton has become even more expressive, and extra creasy. When you get your hands on him, his genuine width, top side progression, muscle shape, and exceptional hide quality tie the whole package together.

As good as we thought he was when we decided to skip the ba**er, we honestly believe he’s better today.

We’re excited to see his first lamb crop hit the ground this fall, winter and spring and to watch what this young sire can do in breeding programs across the country.

🚨 Breeding Season is Officially Underway! 🚨

Our first round of regular and donor AI for our December lamb crop took place today!

🟢 Green = Donor AIs
🟡 Yellow = Regular AI Groups

We think there are some pretty exciting matchups on this first set of ewes, and we can’t wait to see what they produce! 🔥🐑

This year we’re making a few changes that we believe will make our program even stronger and more consistent.

Instead of breeding over one long season, we’re focusing on four planned lambing groups:

🎄 December
❄️ January
🌱 February
☘️ March

Each group will have scheduled AI and donor flushes, allowing us to concentrate our very best genetics into specific breeding windows. Any remaining open ewes will then be naturally serviced for an April lamb crop.

A more structured breeding calendar allows us to:

✅ Give every lamb crop the attention it deserves.
✅ Better prepare for our private treaty, live, online, and production sales.
✅ Work around our major stock show schedule.
✅ Produce more uniform age groups for our customers.
✅ Maximize the potential of our donors, recipients, and AI sires.

It may require a little more planning on the front end, but we believe it’ll pay dividends with a more efficient program and an even better product for our customers.

It's hard to put a value on a ewe that has consistently made our program better year after year, but that's exactly what Haws 5937 has done.

She isn't the kind that needed a lot of hype she just kept raising good ones. In fact, we've retained daughters out of her from multiple different sires because they continued proving themselves.

Here's a look at her production:

• 2026 – Rizz daughter that went to Shroyer
• 2025 – Flushed to Wipe Out and produced an outstanding set that included a keeper ewe for us and a buck that sold. She also raised a natural-born that was successfully shown at Galveston.
• 2024 – Night Shift daughter shown at Kendall County that has since become a donor in our program.
• 2023 – Wipe Out daughter ( #23165) that we've retained as a donor.
• 2022 – Turnpike Troubadour keeper ewe.

When you look through our keeper pen over the last several years, Haws 5937's influence is everywhere. That's about the biggest compliment we can give a donor ewe.

She has flat-out worked.

We’ve got half a dozen late-born lease ewe lambs available for this year’s show season.

These girls are sired by:

They’re a great option for families looking to add a quality ewe to their string without the upfront investment of a high dollar purchasing.

Lease Fee: $500
Return Date: Due back to the farm by April 1.

Watching the devastation across the Texas Hill Country has been absolutely heartbreaking.

Our family has experienced catastrophic flooding before, so this is something we know all too well. Seeing the images and hearing the stories coming out of Central Texas brings back emotions we wouldn’t wish on anyone. That amount of water and what it can do is hard to fathom if you’ve never seen it.

Floodwaters don’t just damage homes and property, they turn lives upside down in a matter of moments. The emotional toll can be just as overwhelming as the physical destruction.

Our thoughts and prayers are with every family affected, those still waiting for answers, the first responders working around the clock, and the countless volunteers stepping up to help their neighbors.

The road to recovery will be long, but if there’s one thing Texans have always done well, it’s coming together in times of need.

Please continue to keep the Hill Country and everyone impacted in your prayers. ❤️🤍💙 🙏
