This is our momma cow Hope. She is due about any second now. When things green up on the ranch it sure does get pretty!
Since we moved here we noticed the sun sets differently in Oklahoma. The lower humidity allows for light rays to go farther through the atmosphere. Sandy/dust particles from our south and west from the deserts reflect blue light rays, and we are often left this orange sunsets that look like the sky is on fire, or like the hues below.
Most mornings and evenings start like this! Beautiful day in the Southern Plains.

The Horse-Port project is progressing nicely and we are thrilled with the results so far. The next steps include adding a small tack and feed room and completing the fence, with the gate serving as a preview of the fencing design.
Also looking forward to our horses having a dedicated space.

We are so excited here on the ranch!

Early in '23 we moved to Oklahoma to grow our urban farm into a homestead/ranch. We soon started buying our Highland fold. Nearly 2 1/2 years later we finally put our first beef in the freezer. Well, we had to go buy a freezer to put the beef in because the other three are full of pork and poultry..
I've had no trouble with processing the pork or poultry, but this one tug at our heartstrings. Bourbon has been my little buddy since day one.
Put some ribeye steaks on the grill as soon as we got it home and have tried some burgers too. Highlands make amazing beef! We will be putting together beef, pork, poultry, and mixed boxes together soon, so watch the website.
