We had hoped that we would not be sharing this for years to come but our well known HR Manager Goldie Smith passed away today August 27, 2026. In October 2018 at the downtown Beggs Trunk or Treat this stray dog was running from everyone but many of the locals said that she was just a stray that had been around for a couple of years and they would leave food and water out and even get her chicken strips from The Shell.. We heard that many had tried to catch her, dart her and after the xrays today know that she was shot twice!! That obviously happened back in her "thug" days. Dad (Henry) took it as a personal challenge to get her to trust him and get her off the streets. You could find them in the small hay shed in front of the store as he spoon feed her canned food. Many of you took notice that they were quickly becoming just what each other needed and started leaving blankets and supplies just for her. Come December 2018 she started to come inside the store for just a few minutes but would ultimately be ready to go back out by the time everyone was leaving. Goldie started to trust us enough to relax and allowed us to rub her belly. January 2019 we got her loaded like the passenger princess that she quickly became and had her checked out at Bynum Vet Clinic. That's when we found out she was spayed, not chipped and HW+. From that day on she no longer lived on the streets and lived her best life making new friends here at the store. While being groomed evey month by Nikki she would get her new bandana and a bag full of treats. While Goldie would be taking care of her daily HR duties, mainly sleeping with her personal AC on, she always loved when the door opened and a little as well as adults that came in to pet and talk to her and she never turned down a treat! We would like to thank everyone of you who have been a part of journey with our girl Golds. A special thank you to the Dr's and staff of Bynum Vet Clinic, one of us is hard to handle but cram 9 of us in the exam room with a whole lot of feeling happening you all are truly the best!💔❤️🩹
