My kid recorded this, and then told me I looked like a vampire (I did, my contacts+ lighting made my eye glow red 😆). So we’re in Sepia yall!
ANYWAY perhaps the only thing more exciting than the World Cup right now is that I have FINALLY stopped messing around and procured 2. Whole. CASES of Kitchen Garden Farm giardiniera vegetables!! If you’ve had my muffuletta focaccia, well, you KNOW. This stuff is the best. Any now I’ve folded it into the focaccia so we have better distribution, less topping loss (RIP lost toppings 🪦) and more of this amazing local product. Seriously, how lucky are we?! Anyway if you have yet to try my muffuletta focaccia and you’re at all a fan of Italian sandwiches or olives or spicy vegetables, what are you actually waiting for??? I’ll see you this Sunday at the Belchertown Farmers Market 🍅 💚

Friends, I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am to all of you. You came out in droves. You waiting patiently in the hot sun and you made me sell out of almost everything by the end of the day. You let my children extort you for lemonade sales. 😆 you are the reason I do this!
My expanded menu this season has been in a direct response to some of the gaps we have in the food area that has come with the expansion of the market overall. The bigger the market, the more patrons, the more business and the more those patrons are looking for. The growth of the market has been so incredible and I want y’all to have everything you’re looking for! Problem is I’m one woman and I have been running myself ragged to try to bring you everything I possibly can. I’m providing the offerings of nearly a full bakery with a staff of, me. Shout out to matt who makes me coffee I never drink, breakfast sandwiches I eat cold, schleps all the nonsense down and back to the market, slings baked goods he doesn’t get to eat all without a single complaint. You’re my favorite 😘
You all literally give me life and I cannot express how grateful I am for all of your business! You make it worth while every single time and remind me what all the work is for. That being said, if anyone has a line on additional food vendors for the market please let me know! We wanna give you everything we possibly can and as a sitting board member, I want to know what you want to see and we want to bring it to you! In the meantime I better get back to it. These sourdough goodies won’t make themselves after all. Thanks again my friends and will see you this Sunday at the Belchertown Farmers Market 🍅 💚

Pre-ordering is open! follow the link in my bio for our Hotplate site. Given how I sold out of everything but a handful of cookies and a piece or 2 of focaccia, I'd HIGHLY encourage you to do so.
Also, slight update to the menu! For anyone who bought my lemon ricotta muffins last week, I apologize. Not for the muffins, I know they were yummy (I ate one 😋), but I got the price way wrong. I realized I must have just copied the donut text when i was making the menu, and in my exhausted, sleep deprived state I didn't change the price. Given the cost of the ingredients for those, I realized afterwards it was wrong.
So, this is my new updated (fixed?) menu, with some JAMMY donuts added to the mix. I'm way behind already, so lets hope I get through my bake and prep list in time. Wish me luck and see you Sunday my friends! Belchertown Farmers Market 🍅 ᴍᴏɴꜱᴏᴏɴ ʀᴏᴀꜱᴛᴇʀʏ ᴄᴏꜰꜰᴇᴇ 🌱☕️🔥 Whisker Woods Pottery

📣It’s the OPENING DAY!!! THIS Sunday, June 7th 10am-2pm on the beautiful Belchertown Common.
I for one am so excited (and insanely stressed but nonetheless)!!! I mean, just LOOK at this map! Our market manager has been working tirelessly to bring you as many awesome local vendors as possible. We will have such fun activities, live music, BUBBLES thanks to , obviously a TON of vendors and even some new picnic tables so you can really sit, eat, relax and shop until your hearts content.
Because we have so many vendors and I honestly quite enjoy the shade (being the pale, cold loving redhead that I am), I requested to be put in the way back. Our manager has tried to create a nice little food court area back there so you can come and grab something to eat, sit and enjoy, and then just shop your way right out! I will be in the front the rest of the season but be sure to make your way back to us at some point this Sunday. The Baird girls will be slinging organic strawberry lemonade and herbal iced tea once again, and I’ll be selling you everything else and trying not to cry because I’ve missed seeing everyone so much!
I am so proud of what this market has become for this community and honored to be a part of it. 💚

I’m changing how I do things. 🥖
While I’m admittedly a fan of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” I’m also a staunch realist and a creative. There’s always a bit of, “can I make this better if I do it this way?” The answer is yes, absolutely yes.
I’m putting my mix-ins INTO my savory scones during the cutting in phase to get better distribution (seen here). I’m also doing the same for my individual sourdough focaccia, which will be the same size, but this year be coming to you in a big fluffy square as opposed to a round. Why? I’m doing all of this in the name of efficiency and improvement! Last year my life was more than chaotic every single Friday, Saturday and Sunday trying to pack in all kinds of things in just 72 hours. I cannot live like that again this year and so a new spread out baking schedule and more efficient ways of doing things are really going to make a huge difference. It should also mean even better products for you. It allows me to keep, and even expand my offerings (hello lemon ricotta muffins and maple glazed donuts), but do so in a way that allows me to breath. It means new packaging in some cases (classic sourdough loaves in bags!). It’s new ways of actually shopping my tent at the to make it a more efficient experience for all. I want your feedback. This is a small business whose customers literally mean EVERYTHING. If you don’t like something, let me know. If you have a suggestion on how I might improve it, let me know! I’m so crazy nervous, but also SO excited for y’all to see what I have for you. Ok, back to work, see you soon friends. 💚

Ordering opens in less than an hour!

Yes the super popular Mother's Day Brunch Boxes are back and with a very limited quantity. I've removed some things (RIP croissants, you take up too much of my time) and added some fun new things (donuts anyone?). Don't worry, perhaps my most popular item, Lady
Grey Lavender Scones (it's like a London Fog...but in a scone) are back as are many other items.
Show the mother figure in your life how much you love them with their favorite things.
And to all the mothers out there, by birth or love or time given, Happy Early Mother's Day. The world needs you so much right now, so keep on keepin on. ❤️

A big batch of pasta brought to you by a clutch of Greta the goose eggs, the pasta dryer .oakandash made me for my birthday, and a glass of flour covered wine. 🍝🪿🍷
I made a double batch with my mixer to help preserve all those beautiful spring goose eggs. Half went to a dish used to make of Marsala braised beef ( I used venison) with roasted carrots, mushrooms and braised Swiss chard, and the other half is going to be dried for later use. It’s like cookies; if your going to make SOME you might as well make a BUNCH for later. 😉

I know, I’m sorry I haven’t opened up Sourdough Kitchen orders for the month, I’ve been busy spending time with my emotional support goose. 😄
No in all reality I’ve had to take the month off to really catch up with the business side of things. I spent far too much time last year adding my expenses into a very archaic system I created on Google Sheets. Quite frankly my business has grown faster than my system can account for. I skipped a lot of due diligence and it came back to bite me in the butt in the form of frustration and time wasted on doing things incorrectly and inefficiently. I’m taking the limited time I DO have right now in between frantic garden prep and homeschool to properly set up my business budgeting system. It’s tedious, it makes me want to crawl out of my skin, but it needs to be done. I’m working on some really exciting improvements for the this year, as well as on farm pick-up. So bear with me, don’t forget about me, and I’ll see you all soon!
