This has been an intense week and I am truly testing my capacity, but I can't say it enough... I LOVE this work. What other jobs lets you visit your friends all week, play in the garden until dark, and spend a Saturday designing with local and homegrown stems? My guess is, not many. SO thankful for my flower community that gives me the confidence and support to push myself. We're in the homestretch now!

I am trying to soak up the last weeks before first frost, even through the mad rush of Fall. I haven't had much time to sit and reflect on the magnitude of our first official season, but I went from shyly selling plant starts at the local farmer's market, to doing design work that is changing my brain chemistry. This season has redefined what I believe I am capable of accomplishing and sustaining. More on that later... This has been such transformative season, but it isn't over yet 💫 slowing down and enjoying all the little moments I can until then.

Fall is in the air and the dahlias are loving it 🍂✨️

So am I! We're soaking up the cool mornings while grabbing pictures of blooms and making our goodies into jam while it's still overcast out. We're enjoying the warm, sunny afternoons on the trampoline and the sourdough rising on the counter. The beautiful balance of it all. I LOVE this time of year 🌗🧡

A lot of the time starting a business feels like "if it didn't get posted on social media, it didn't happen". I love sharing what am I up to, and I have a blast making cute little reels, but I didn't start this farm or my art business to become a content creator. The more I step back from recording, and posting, engaging online, the more opportunities and experience have come my way... Everything takes twice as long when you're recording or have a baby in tow and most days I'd rather just do the things for myself. I'm slowly learning that that's okay. It feels like a demand when I am posting constantly, and that is not the life I want to live. I find the best supporters in my daily life. The same can be said about my relationships. I have set boundaries, have had hard conversations, and learned to advocate for myself. I cut off lots of people who drained me, and at first it felt isolating, but the relationships that have grown this summer have shown me exactly why I should make myself unavailable for the things I don't want. Life has grown so much where I've learned to say "no".

Fresno chili pepper 🌶

Chili peppers come in all shapes and sizes. They range from extremely hot to just a bit of heat. Some are so hot that they are barely edible (unless you are my husband). A fresno rates between 5,000 and 10,000 on the Scoville chart. Because fresnos develop a fruitier, smokier flavor and a slightly hotter kick than a standard jalapeno, you can substitute them 1:1 in almost any recipe calling for jalapenos or serranos! They are often made into sauces, or dried for later, instead of eaten fresh. They make a perfect addition to stir fries and salsas!
