Nestled in a beautiful Bedford County cove at the base of Epps Hills in rural small town Bell Buckle, TN; surrounded on both sides by a fresh water creek, sits a home built in 1853. Utilized as a farm for most of its life; the Maddox family found this wonderful piece of history in June of 2015. Once used as a hospital during the Civil War; the grounds are littered with amazing artifacts – many of
which they continue to find over the years. In addition to that history; many Indian artifacts have also been located on the property; indicating that people used this place long before the Maddox Family had the great opportunity to call it "Home". Understanding the benefits of living life in a rural setting and the simplicity and peace it brings; Eric and Jennifer Maddox decided to return to their roots; and raise their family on this farm. On the 35-acre home-place; they currently raise Chickens, Goats, Sheep, Ducks, Hogs and even Bees. Jennifer has also taken on growing beautiful flowers; and during the growing season, fresh cut floral arrangements now occupy the family table; where they gather every day for meals. The family also plants and harvests a large garden every year; canning much of their food. In 2021 a vineyard and a fruit tree grove was added. In addition; Eric has planted over 300 pine trees to join a single large Loblolly pine located on the property; estimated to be well over 100 years old – located beside the old stone Chimney that once was attached to the original home.
