Today on Stumbo On The Go we made our way out to Bellbrook Brewing Company for their Dammit Debi fruited sour release—and while the beer was definitely worth the trip, we also got introduced to a food truck pairing that absolutely deserved a shoutout of its own.

That spotlight goes to The Food Dude Street Eats and Catering.

Set up outside the brewery and serving up smash burgers while everyone was enjoying pours of Dammit Debi? Yeah… Bellbrook Brewing definitely knew what they were doing with this pairing.

The Food Dude is run by Kevin Milstead and has built a solid reputation around the Dayton/Miami Valley area with pop-ups, public events, and catering—and after finally getting a chance to try them for ourselves, we can absolutely see why people keep showing up hungry.

As we were hanging out with our beers we kept noticing basket after basket of smash burgers being served out of the pop up gazebo.

And once you see that flat top working overtime and people walking away smiling with loaded burgers in hand…

Well…

You know exactly what happens next.

We had to jump in line.

The topping options were stacked too—lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, jalapeños, American cheese, pepper jack, Swiss, bacon… plenty of ways to build your perfect burger.

Mel found herself right at home and built hers with pepper jack cheese, bacon, and jalapeños.

And from the first bite?

She was sold.

The burger had that beautiful smash burger crust and was seasoned perfectly, but she immediately pointed out the bun before I even got a bite of mine.

“Buttery.”

And she was absolutely right.

That bun held up perfectly with every bite and had that rich toasted flavor that immediately makes a burger feel even better.

Plus with the pepper jack and jalapeños bringing the heat, she was in her happy place.

I kept mine classic with American cheese and bacon and I fully agree with her review.

The bun was buttery, sturdy, and exactly what you want holding together a smash burger stacked with flavor.

And the burger itself?

Smashed perfectly.

Great texture.

Great seasoning.

Exactly what you hope for when you order one.

What made it even cooler was getting a chance to chat with Kevin afterward.

He talked about how much he genuinely enjoys the whole process—the rhythm of seasoning patties on the flat top, building each burger, and creating that experience where customers get to watch it all come together.

And honestly… you can tell.

There’s real passion behind what he’s doing.

The kind of passion that makes a food truck memorable.

One fun thing we learned after we ate—Kevin’s got a signature move where he adds mayo and mustard to the buns before tossing them on the flat top.

Unfortunately we learned that after we finished eating.

Which means…

Yep.

Guess we’ll just have to catch him again next time and “research” that bun method properly.

We also kept hearing great things from folks nearby about his homemade lemonade who hit up his pop up before, so now that’s officially on the list too.

Between great burgers, great people, and a perfect pairing with Bellbrook Brewing’s Dammit Debi release, this one ended up being a really fun local stop.

Big shoutout to Bellbrook Brewing Company for bringing in a fantastic food truck pairing.

And shoutout to The Food Dude for delivering smash burgers that paired perfectly with craft beer.

That’s a combo Stumbo On The Go can definitely get behind.

We made a stop at Bellbrook Brewing Company specifically for today and you already know what that means if you follower their page. Another Dammit Debi Day hit today at 12pm, and the next double release is finally here: Blueberry Cobbler and Cherry Cobbler fruited sours.

Let’s start with Blueberry Cobbler, because this one is the one that brought the cobbler flavor through and through. Deep, juicy blueberry flavor leads the way, rich and vibrant without going jammy or artificial. What really makes it sing, though, is how well it plays with that cobbler crust note much like the Blackberry did before it. You get this baked, slightly buttery, almost flaky impression that rounds everything out and makes it feel like a fork-and-plate dessert experience — except it’s cold, refreshing, and dangerously drinkable. It’s balanced, nostalgic, and exactly what you hope for when you hear “Blueberry Cobbler.”

Then there’s my personal favorite Cherry Cobbler..

The Brewer In The Brook does it yet again.

This one to me was the standout amongst the two. It honesty taste like I popped open a can of cherry pie filling and drank it straight back. It was just enough tart, it was natural, and beautifully supported rather than overpowering. It didn’t bring all of the cobbler flavor to my taste buds but asking around there were plenty of people agreeing with my assessment.

Together, this duo understood the assignment of being apart of the Dammit Debi series. The Brewer in the Brook has continued his understanding of flavors with these recent batches and the people who showed up today are definitely raising their glasses to him, us whole heartedly included.

Another fun addition today was meeting Dammit Debi herself! lol

She was so nice to talk with and super excited to share how the name came to be for the beer. Her name came up numerous times in Bellbrook Brewing Family’s household with her being the cheer coach for their oldest daughter. A name that stuck in the most playful way when our #1 Bartender in Dayton met Debi for the first time and informed her that he too had some cheer moves. He told he could do the leaping toe touch and when he was told not to do it behind the bar by one of the owners, he sneakily chose to do when she left the bar area, only for her to return the moment he landed from the attempt. Dylan was quick to point to Debi, the words Dammit Debi flowed out naturally enough that it stuck when the Cobbler fruited sour needed a name for the first time.

The name is definitely a playful nod, but daggone does it describe the positive reaction when you take a drink of these bad boys lol.

Fun to hear the story and to be able to share it as well. Also one of her favorite beers is Chasing Flamingos, just a little tidbit there.

If you make it in today for the release you too may get a chance to meet Debi and she too will share the origin story, she will probably do it more justice than hearing it second hand from me.

While you there, give both a try and let me know if you’re Team Cherry or Team Blueberry…

And grab a case to go 😉

Another review to come is for The Food Dude who set up to sling smashburgers and hotdogs for the event, so stay tuned for that, I got notes to get pieced together.

Next stop on Stumbo On The Go’s Annual Smokies Trip brought us somewhere that was dangerously close to our cabin… and by dangerously, we mean the kind of close where you could absolutely see yourself becoming a regular real fast.

We found ourselves checking out PaPa Leones Pizzeria in Sevierville, and if you’re looking for a pizza spot that can feed the whole cabin crew without sacrificing quality, this one absolutely deserves a spot on your Smoky Mountain radar.

Papa Leone’s is a family-owned pizzeria serving up authentic New York-style pies just minutes away from Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, and Sevierville. Their whole approach is simple—big appetites deserve big flavor without overcomplicating dinner after a long day exploring the Smokies.

And honestly?

That mission statement checks out.

They make it easy too with family packs designed for cabins and big groups, from a quick family pizza night to enough food to feed a whole reunion. Order online, call it in, or order at the counter and they’re firing everything up fresh to order.

With the rain rolling in—heavy on the sarcasm there—we decided to duck inside and dine in rather than make a run back to the cabin.

The dining area had plenty of seating whether you’re rolling in with a full family, hanging with friends, or just grabbing a solo pie for yourself.

Before the pizza hit the table, we kicked things off with the house-made pizza rolls.

And no… not the basement-dweller frozen variety we all grew up tossing in the microwave.

These were crispy spring roll wrappers stuffed with pepperoni and mozzarella, served alongside marinara.

And we both immediately looked at each other and agreed—they were giving serious vibes of a certain famous spring roll from the most magical place on Earth.

Golden and flaky on the outside.

Loaded with pepperoni.

Mozzarella pulling apart with every bite.

And that marinara tying the whole thing together.

Absolutely solid start.

Then came the main event.

We ordered the 18-inch Papa’s Pepperoni and let’s just say Papa Leone’s wasn’t messing around.
When they say New York-style… they mean New York-style.

The FOLD, that slight grease drip from the pepperoni,
a beautifully seasoned sauce, and a signature cheese blend with an awesome cheese pull. Truthfully, it was everything you want from a proper oversized pepperoni pie.

Every slice had plenty of that zesty pepperoni flavor and enough cheese to make you immediately reach for another piece before finishing the first.

And here’s where I started kicking myself a little.

Because while enjoying that pepperoni masterpiece, I made the mistake of looking back at the menu.

And there it was…

The Sasquatch Pizza.

This bad boy comes with zesty pepperoni, sliced meatballs, italian sausage, mozzarella, shredded parmesan, and smoked provolone.

Pun intended, but it sounds and looks like a full-on smoky mountain of pizza goodness.

And I immediately knew… Yeah! We’re coming back for that.

No hesitation.

No debate.

It’s already on deck for a future Smokies trip.

Papa Leone’s absolutely earned a spot on the Stumbo On The Go “To Go List,” and I’m already counting down until we cross paths with that Sasquatch pizza.

Until next time, big guy 😉

Next stop on Stumbo On The Go’s Annual Smokies trip brought us to one of Gatlinburg’s best kept little secrets — Alibi at The Coffee Syndicate.

Tucked right off the Gatlinburg strip, this hush-hush spot proudly claims the title of the first legal speakeasy on the strip and after finally stepping inside… we absolutely get the hype.

The experience starts before you even walk through the door.

Starting at 4 PM Tuesday through Saturday, just head up to the velvet ropes outside The Coffee Syndicate and an inviting host will greet you, check your ID, and then… casually lead you toward the cooler.

And yes… that cooler.

Don’t panic.

That’s where the magic begins, not where you sleep with the fishes.

Step through to the other side and suddenly it feels like you’ve been dropped straight into another era. The lights are low, the jazz is swinging, and modern songs are transformed into smooth vintage-style classics. The whole room feels like stepping back in time. The only thing missing was a few flappers dancing through the crowd.

The space itself is a vibe.

Behind the bar? Shelves and shelves packed with bourbon and spirits as far as the eye can see. One look at the cocktail menu and you immediately understand why—they absolutely do not mess around when it comes to their liquor selection.

And because they know how to keep things fun, they even have a giant vintage bathtub setup ready for photo ops… with the perfect reminder posted in the rules in the menu. I say you gotta stay classy, not flashy. lol 😉

Naturally we found ourselves a pair of seats at the bar and got to take it all in.

And shoutout to the two behind the bar because “bartender” almost feels too simple here—they were true mixologists. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and honestly? A little intimidating in the best possible way considering how many incredible drinks they can whip up.

After flipping back and forth through the menu several times, I landed on the Clee’s Knees — their speakeasy spin on a Bee’s Knees.

Empress 1908 Indigo Gin, lemon juice, honey syrup, topped with a delicate lemon tuile honeycomb pastry and honey caviar.

It was citrusy, herbal, bright, and boozy in all the right ways. Every sip hit with layers of flavor and absolutely punched us right in the mouth—in the best way possible.

Mel went with the Bartles & Clyde, which may have also won points just for the name alone.

A prohibition-style riff on a wine cooler with sparkling moscato, peach liqueur, white peach simple syrup, frozen peaches, and a strawberry crown, all served in a vintage corked bottle with an iced crystal goblet.

Sweet, Refreshing, Peachy, and Dangerously easy to sip.

Meanwhile behind the bar the mixologists kept slinging beautiful cocktails while everyone around us tapped their feet and drummed along to the jazz.

And honestly?

This place won’t stay a secret for long.

By the time we left we were already recommending it to people we met along the way on our Smokies trip.

It’s really exciting seeing this little stretch off the Gatlinburg strip continue building into such a cool Italian food and drink destination.

And The Alibi?

Forgetta bout it.

…No but seriously—write it down, screenshot it, save it in your notes, tell your travel crew—whatever you’ve gotta do.

Find it near the end of the strip and go enjoy the experience.

We’re happy to officially add The Alibi to the Stumbo On The Go “To Go List.”

Whether you know your bourbons and gin cocktails like a pro or you’re cocktail rookies like us, they’ll gladly help point you in the right direction.

And trust us…

You’re gonna have a great time.

Next up on Stumbo On The Go’s Annual Smokies trip is one of those very real vacation moments we all know too well.

The kind where you’ve packed the day absolutely full.

You’ve bounced between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Spent time at the pool.

Walked more than you realized.

And by the time evening rolls around at the cabin…

Everybody is hungry.

Everybody is tired.

And nobody is volunteering to leave the cabin again.

That’s exactly how we found ourselves back at our cabin at Parkside Resort looking for dinner and hoping for a solid save.

That’s when Black Bear Pizza & Pasta came onto our radar.

Formerly known as Geno's Pizza, this family owned Pigeon Forge spot has been serving visitors and locals since 1975—and after reading about the fresh daily dough made with English Mountain Spring Water and seeing how much pride they clearly take in keeping things homemade and simple, we figured they sounded like exactly what our travel weary souls needed.

And thankfully…

They absolutely came through.

Bonus points right out of the gate for being available on DoorDash and delivering straight to the cabin.

Vacation win.

We kicked things off with Geno’s Famous Cheese Bread.

And wow.

Perfectly cheesy.

Loaded with buttery garlic parmesan flavor.

Soft and warm on the inside with that little bit of golden baked goodness holding it together.

Exactly the kind of starter you tell yourself you’re only having “a piece or two” of…

…and then suddenly half of it has disappeared.

For the pizza we went with a Large New York style Extreme Pepperoni.

And this was a pepperoni lover’s dream.

House made dough.

Mozzarella layered just right.

Traditional pepperoni… AND cup pepperoni.

Which let’s all be honest for a second… Cup pepperoni is elite. Getting both styles on one pizza felt like the pepperoni version of vacation luxury.

The pizza had that oversized New York style slice feel, but with a little more crunch on the bottom than a traditional foldable pie. Not much of that chewy fold.

But honestly?

It worked.

That crispier crust handled all that cheese and pepperoni beautifully and made every slice feel like the perfect delivery system for cheesy, greasy pepperoni goodness. Exactly what we were hoping for.

And honestly that’s what made Black Bear Pizza & Pasta such a clutch stop for this year’s Smokies trip.

It wasn’t trying to be flashy, it just delivered exactly what we needed after a long day.

Fresh pizza. Great cheese bread. Hot food delivered to the cabin. And a chance to kick back and recharge before another busy Smokies adventure.

Black Bear absolutely made the save for us that night.

And after that first order?

We’d definitely hit them up again next time we’re down this way.

Because sometimes the best vacation meal isn’t the one you planned weeks ahead…

Sometimes it’s the pizza that shows up at the cabin exactly when you need it.

Next up on Stumbo On The Go’s Annual Smokies trip is a stop that honestly surprised us in the best way possible.

The Apple Barn.

Now over the years we’ve visited Apple Barn plenty of times.

Wine tastings? Absolutely. (Review coming for the wine/hard cider tastings trails)

Hard cider tastings? Every chance we get.

Stocking up on apple butter and all the apple themed goodness? You know it.

But somehow through all those visits…

We never made the FOOD a top priority.

And after this year? We can officially say…

That was a mistake. A deliciously fixable mistake.

Apple Barn has two eateries on the property and for this trip we decided to go with Applewood Farmhouse Grill over the Farmhouse Restaurant.

Originally our thought was simple:

“Let’s not overdo it.”

We knew the Farmhouse Restaurant leaned heavier into the family-style feel and thought the Grill might be the lighter option.

We were… very wrong. Because right from the jump Applewood starts feeding you.

First came the Applewood Julep drink. And yes—they even give you the recipe which feels like a dangerous amount of trust. (no worries, recipe is below)

Then came the apple fritters and apple butter. And wow. Warm, soft, full of apple flavor, and somehow the perfect mashup between a funnel cake and a hush puppy. That apple butter paired with them beautifully.

But then…

Then came the potato soup.

House made. Loaded with chunks of potato throughout. Rich and comforting and ridiculously good.

By the time we were ready to order lunch we were already laughing because we were somehow filling up before the actual meal even started. But we rallied.

Mel ordered the newer Spicy Chicken & Dumplings after one of the employees at the wine tasting recommended it.

And if you know Mel and her homemade chicken and noodles as well as I do and the Stumbo Family at our annual reunion, that recommendation had to clear a high bar.

It absolutely delivered.

The spicy twist gave the dish something fun without overpowering the comfort food feel, and she paired it with creamy mac and cheese plus fluffy mashed potatoes. And let me tell you… Those mashed potatoes with the chicken and dumplings? That combo deserved a standing ovation. I actually had to share some of mine so Mel could get mashed potatoes with every dumpling bite.

That’s teamwork.

As for me, I went with the Open Face Roast Beef with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The roast beef was smothered in exactly the kind of rich brown gravy I was hoping for. The bread underneath admittedly got soggy a little faster than I expected—but that may honestly just be on me because open-faced sandwiches aren’t normally in my regular rotation.

Either way… The flavor absolutely delivered.

And by the end?

We definitely hit a couple brick walls trying to finish.

But here’s the thing…

It was so good we immediately felt like we had years of missed meals to make up for. Which is exactly why we ended up back there AGAIN the next day.

Round two.

Mel was torn between the blackened Alfredo and the meatloaf. Our waitress suggested the meatloaf. And that suggestion absolutely paid off. Mel is a big fan of a good meatloaf and this one delivered every bit of that home cooked comfort you want from it.

She paired it with mashed potatoes because honestly… What’s a proper meatloaf plate without mashed potatoes?

Meanwhile I went with the steak burger topped with Monterey Jack. And goodness gracious. That thick steak burger patty paired with that buttery brioche bun was incredibly satisfying.

Big flavor. Big portions. And yes… Still incredibly filling.

Apple Barn…

We owe you an apology.

All these years we’ve loved the drinks and never realized how much we were missing when it came to the food. But after two visits on one trip? Consider us fully converted.

Apple Barn has officially locked in its place on our To Go List—not just for wine and cider…

…but for some genuinely fantastic food too.

And we’re already looking forward to making up for lost time again next year.

Here’s that Applewood Julep recipe 😉

Ingredients:
1 Cup Pineapple Juice
1 Cup Orange Juice
¼ Cup Lemon Juice
1 Qt. Apple Juice

Directions:
Mix juices well and add to a glass of ice for a refreshing taste. 🙂

05/26/2026

On May 17th, 2025, Gorilla Taco officially found its way onto the Stumbo On The Go “To Go List” during our Annual Smokies trip.

And now after another year, another trip through the mountains, and the dust settling from the completely unsanctioned—but very real—Smoky Mountain Taco Battle…

Gorilla Taco is still standing taller than the competition.

At least in our eyes.

And honestly?

That big masked Lucha Gorilla greeting you when you walk in makes it feel like they already know they’re the reigning champ.

From the outside to the inside, the gorilla theme is still every bit as fun as we remembered. Gorilla decor tucked all around the restaurant, plenty of personality, even carrying into the bathrooms.

It’s one of those places that fully commits to the vibe—and we love that.

But the food? Yeah, that’s what keeps bringing us back.

And before we even talk tacos, I need to give praise where praise is absolutely due… Those tortilla chips and salsa are STILL hands down some of the best tortilla chips and salsa we’ve had anywhere—from Tennessee all the way back home to Ohio.

Fresh. Warm. Perfect crunch. And the salsa still tastes bright and fresh like it was made minutes before it hit the table.

This year we also added queso to the table and wow… Simply put, it was Chef’s kiss.

Perfect flavor and plenty cheesy goodness. Plus side is that it was smooth and rich without being too heavy.

We had to physically push the chips basket away before the entrées showed up because it would’ve been dangerously easy to keep going.

Mel decided to switch it up this trip and ordered the Arroz Con Pollo plate. Marinated grilled chicken breast over Mexican rice with red and green bell peppers, onions, and topped with that delicious queso cheese.

And Gorilla Taco definitely didn’t skimp. The portion was generous, loaded with flavor, and Mel officially joined the Clean Platers Club.

Which tells you everything you need to know because if it’s worth skipping leftovers on vacation?

It was GOOD good.

She also said it paired well with her Tranquilizer frozen Daiquiri, which was their spin on a Peach Daiquiri that didn’t hold back on the peach flavor.

As for me…

There was no way I wasn’t getting the Quesabirria tacos again. I remembered them from last year and they were too good not to revisit.

And somehow…

They hit even harder this time.

Everything I love about a good Quesabirria. Ooey gooey melted cheese. Slow roasted beef soaked with flavor. That rich savory goodness packed into every bite. And then the corn tortilla holding it all together perfectly while still being sturdy enough for the best part…

Dipping every single bite into that birria consommé. Absolutely worth every bite. And that’s really what makes Gorilla Taco such a repeat stop for us.

Great service.

A fun theme that fully commits.

Fresh chips and salsa that deserve their own spotlight.

And food that absolutely delivers every time.

What more could you ask for?

Last year Gorilla Taco entered the Smoky Mountain taco conversation and made a statement.

This year?

They reminded us exactly why they earned their spot on the To Go List.

In a battle of one Gorilla versus one hundred tacos…

Yeah…

We’re still siding with Gorilla Taco.

Next up on Stumbo On The Go’s Annual Smokies trip brought us to a stop that had been floating all over our TikTok feeds for a while now…

The Cinnamon Bread Factory in Sevierville, Tennessee.

And yes…

Before we go any further, we know around these Smoky Mountain parts that Dolly reigns supreme and her cinnamon bread at Dollywood has people lined up from alllll over.

That cinnamon bread has earned legendary status for a reason.

But we’re here to tell you something important for anyone heading to the Smokies with a cinnamon bread craving and not wanting to battle theme park crowds and long lines…

The Cinnamon Bread Factory absolutely deserves the hype.

And yes…

It is worthy of every bit of that viral TikTok attention.

A little cool history behind this stop:

Back in November of 2018, they originally opened under the name Wildflour Bakehouse, offering custom cakes, pastries, and bread bowls.

More recently they rebranded into The Cinnamon Bread Factory to really highlight what became their signature specialty—scratch-made cinnamon bread with all kinds of customizable topping options.

And thankfully they still carry that bakery heart with all kinds of sweet treats around the shop too.

We stopped in on our way out of town and decided to split a piece of the loaf in the car while I was driving.

And let me tell you…

One bite and my taste buds were immediately floating somewhere above the Smokies.

The cinnamon flavor hits right up front.

The dough is unbelievably soft and moist.

And then at the bottom…

That magical pool of cinnamon sugar and butter that caramelizes and crystallizes just enough to give every bite this perfect little crunch.
It was ridiculously good.

They know the TikTok crowd is showing up too because they’ve proudly leaned into it and even put the viral claim right on the marquee sign.
And honestly?

Fair.

Because it deserves the brag.

One of the first fun things we noticed walking inside was their giant map where visitors can place a pin showing where they came from.

We had to work to find a place for ours because apparently half of Ohio had already made the Smoky Mountain pilgrimage before we got there.

Very on brand for us Ohio folks.

At the counter there was a full spread of baked goods staring back at us.

A few La Crème Cheesecakes making another appearance. 😉

Honey buns the size of hubcaps.

Massive apple fritters.

Danishes.

Turnovers.

Donuts.

Cookies.

Brownies.

Basically the kind of bakery case that makes you instantly start negotiating with yourself.

Then off to the side sat the cinnamon bread warmer.

Getting filled up to be ready for the day.

You can customize your loaf with all kinds of topping options, but we decided to keep it classic.

We went full Smoky Mountain OG style with the icing cup on the side so we could dip every single bite and make sure each piece got the proper amount of icing.

No regrets.

Now because this was a true Stumbo On The Go stop, we ate part of it while heading home and still had some left over.

And good news for anybody worried about leftovers…

The next morning it reheated BEAUTIFULLY.

I found reheating instructions online, preheated the oven to 325, wrapped the cinnamon bread and the tin in foil, warmed it for about 20 minutes, then set the icing cup in hot water while it softened back up.

And somehow…

It was every bit as incredible the second day.

That’s impressive.

Fresh out of the oven?

Phenomenal.

Reheated the next morning?

Still phenomenal.

So the question has to be asked…

Is The Cinnamon Bread Factory a legit Smoky Mountain life hack for travelers who want that warm cinnamon bread fix without fighting the crowds at Dollywood?

That answer is an easy and enthusiastic YES.
It officially earned a spot on the Stumbo On The Go To Go List.

And if you find yourself down in Sevierville craving cinnamon bread while soaking in the Smokies…

Go ahead and add them to yours too.

To continue Stumbo On The Go’s Annual Smokies trip, we decided it was time to track down a creature we’ve had our eyes on for a while now…

Bigfoot Philly Cheesesteaks.

Their tagline says “Portions So Big They Can Fill A Sasquatch”…

…and goodness gracious, they are NOT exaggerating.

Much like the elusive cryptid that inspired the name, we had to venture a little off the beaten path to track this place down—but let me tell you right now…

We were really glad we did.

From the second you pull up, the Bigfoot theme is impossible to miss. Sasquatch decor welcomes you outside and follows you right inside, and the whole place leans into the fun of it in the best way possible.

And while we’re talking about the experience, huge shoutout to the girl running the front while we were there.

She was taking orders, handing out food, keeping everything moving, and doing it all with a line that absolutely refused to quit.

The pressure never seemed to shake her.

She handled it like a pro.

Now this place is known for a couple major things.

First… their massive Philly cheesesteaks.

Second… their TikTok viral Famous 7 Different Cheeses Mac & Cheese.

And yes…

We absolutely had to try both.

Now listen… normally when I see a footlong sandwich, I’m not intimidated.

I’ve handled plenty of sandwich challenges before.

But apparently I didn’t fully respect the phrase “big enough to feed a Sasquatch.”

Challenge accepted.

Mel went with the 12-inch Famous Bigfoot Supreme loaded with one pound of hand carved steak, caramelized onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and American and provolone cheese.

This thing was STACKED.

The steak was piled high, the toppings brought great flavor, and one of the real MVPs here was the bread—super soft on the inside with just the right crunch on the outside.

Mel gave it her best effort and made it through half…

…but she intentionally left room because we both knew we still had the famous mac and cheese waiting.

And let me tell you.

The videos online?

They didn’t do this mac and cheese justice.

The second we scooped it up and lifted it with the fork, the cheese pull alone was enough to stop us mid sentence.

Seven cheeses absolutely came to play.

We spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out what all was in it based on taste alone.

No luck.

I guess that secret stays as elusive as Sasquatch himself.

But one thing we can confirm…

It absolutely deserves every bit of praise and popularity it’s earned.

As for me, I went with the classic footlong Philly cheesesteak and fries.

And man…

Did I mention how HUGE these sandwiches are?

Because somewhere near the end of mine I realized this had become less of lunch and more of a personal challenge.

But there was no way I was tapping out.

That bread was too good to imagine reheating later in the cabin microwave. (Mel did end up declaring that it microwaves just right and it somehow steamed the bun a bit, so that’s a plus.)

The sandwich brought plenty of steak, plenty of cheese, and hit exactly the way a good Philly should.

And the fries?

Classic diner style fries.

The kind that if we were in Pittsburgh, I’d probably be tossing right on top of the sandwich without hesitation.

Now why did Bigfoot Philly Cheesesteaks end up on our radar?

Honestly?

It started with our love of cryptids, Bigfoot lore, and all things Sasquatch.

That got our attention.

But the food?

That sealed the deal.

And when a place is slammed at 2pm in the middle of the week…

That tells you something.

They’ve carved out a fun niche and clearly backed it up with food people keep coming back for.

This trip officially earned Bigfoot Philly Cheesesteaks a spot on our Stumbo On The Go “To Go List.”

So if giant Philly cheesesteaks, cheesy mac, and cryptid hunting sounds like your kind of Smokies adventure…

We say go track Bigfoot Philly Cheesesteaks down for yourself.

You might just leave full enough to feed a Sasquatch too.
