Since I know you all love these posts 😄 Went “shopping” in our freezers for this weeks meals!

Chicken and sausage jambalaya, meatloaf, liver to make raw liver shots, smoked ham hocks for ham and bean soup. Not pictured is smoked sausage for roasted sausage/veggies and quinoa meal prep and premade pork carnita meat from Costco!

MICHIGAN CUSTOMERS! Our amazing breeder, where we got our cattle from, is willing to take on our Michigan clients for halves and quarters of beef (and most likely pork too this year)! He uses the most natural practices possible, and does the same type of feed regimen (it’s where we learned how to do it!). We trust him completely! I think he has spots available starting in March. Send him a text and he will be happy to answer your questions! If you guys have any questions I will be happy to answer as well!

We did it! (Sort of)

After hearing the Lord calling us to a new location, we decided to put our farm up for sale. Things were difficult, and the only way to describe it is to say that God was squeezing us and putting pressure on us, so we would change something. What once was very profitable and successful seemed unnaturally hard and was declining in profits.

Long story short, God was calling us to Legacy church in Nashville. So our farm has been temporarily traded in for a city rental. We’re doing well here so far, but we must admit we are quite bored 😂. As we look for land and a house, we are praying about what that land would be used for. Do we go back to homesteading just for us? How will farming in the mountains work? What animals and crops would thrive here? (And most importantly, what is the election year of 2024 going to throw at us?)

Please please pray with us, for wisdom and guidance on our future. We want to follow our passions, but also be walking in what the Lord is calling us to. And our amazing Michigan customers - watch for my next post on our info for beef and pork for you guys!!

December 24th, and I still haven’t ordered Christmas cards. Usually we send them out to family with an update on the back of how our year went. This year, an online picture will have to work 🙈.

We thank every follower, customer, and friend for your support of us this past year. While it didn’t go as planned, we feel God calling us to close our doors for now. But we have full trust that with one door closing, another will open. It would be nice to know Gods plans sometimes. But if we did-we wouldn’t have to have any faith, now would we?

I know a lot of you (like us) have had a hard 2023. There’s been death, loss, and breaking. But we want you to know that God always has a plan to help. He doesn’t leave us broken and hurting. Christmas is all about the story of Jesus showing up in a miraculous way and bringing hope into a world that is really struggling.

If you haven’t heard it - go listen to “The Fathers House” by Cory Asbury. The line “failures never final when the fathers in the room” is one we’re holding on to in this season. Maybe it’ll help you guys too ❤️🌲

Headed on an adventure! Going to have a fun weekend trip. Our friend is house sitting and watching the animals, so it’ll be a stress free mini vacay for us (as much as it can be with four kids 😂). Don’t worry, we brought our Meredith with us to help 🥰

Life update: The Baumgartner’s are moving! We don’t have too much direction other than “it’s time to go”.

We have learned so much while living here! We fully believe we have walked in what the Lord was calling us to. And our hearts are to continue this business in a new location! That being said, we need some time to figure out what the heck we’re doing 😂.

Our website is stocked with everything we have left. We are also selling our freezers, if you’re in need!

We haven’t been super active on social media, because we were preparing the house to sell. I do hope you guys stick around and see what’s next for us! And also pray for our family during this transition. A new place to live would be a great start haha! (We are in a “trust God” season where we are taking the steps He’s telling us to, but He’s not revealing the full picture yet.) also - pray my kids can refrain from trashing the house while we’re doing showings 😂
