Good evening. , here regarding Bee Hive Convenience Store and the Bee Smacking food trailer at 6500 West Main.
I only learned today that concerns regarding parking and our food trailer may be discussed at this meeting. We have made every effort to operate correctly. We obtained the required permits and licenses, passed our inspections.
If there is a legitimate parking concern, we are absolutely willing to sit down with the city and neighboring businesses and find a reasonable solution. What I don’t believe would be fair is removing a properly permitted business without first giving us an opportunity to hear the specific complaint and respond to it.
Parking in this area has been shared between businesses for a long time. Customers from neighboring businesses have parked directly in front of our store for extended periods, and we never attempted to interfere with their business.
We’re not asking for special treatment. We’re asking for equal treatment and an opportunity to work out any legitimate parking concerns without harming either business.
We have invested substantially into operating legally in Belleville, and our businesses have received tremendous support from the community.
