Feeling really frustrated and heartbroken right now.
Someone put fake money in our honor bucket and stole a bunch of our $5 pumpkins. These aren’t little pumpkins either — we’re talking 35-40 lb pumpkins that you can't find anywhere else for that price. We’ve always priced them this low because we wanted families, especially those with young kids, to be able to enjoy the fall season without it breaking the bank.
We’ve worked hard for years to make the pumpkin patch a fun, affordable place — no entry fees, plenty of free activities for the kids, and big pumpkins for next to nothing. And this is how some people repay that? By lying, stealing, and cheating?
This woman (driving a brand new white Dodge Charger, nicer than my car) loaded up her trunk with pumpkins — taking her time doing it — and then had the nerve to put $30 in fake bills in the bucket. It’s infuriating and deeply disappointing.
We really struggled this year with the decision to open the patch or not. And honestly, the actions of people like this have made us feel like we made the right choice to shut it down. It’s not just about the money — it’s about how hard we worked to create something good for others, and how easily some people can throw that away for their own gain.
There is so much good in the world, but it’s moments like this that make the evil feel overwhelming. For everyone who has supported us over the years with honesty and kindness — thank you. We see you, and we appreciate you.
As for those who steal, cheat, and lie — we may not get justice in this world, but there will be a day when every action is accounted for. And I take peace in that.
