🐑 The Legend of Clover 🐑
I’m a little white lamb with a checkered bow, and a straw hat to shade me wherever I go. I love this farm—every barn, gate, and tree, but I’m quite prone to wandering, as you can see!
Each week, I go scouting for a brand-new view, just waiting to be spotted by someone like you. I might be by the daisies or tucked in the hay, watching the farmhands go about their day.
If you happen to find where I’m taking my rest, you’ve proven yourself a top-notch farm guest! Come tell the folks at the front where I’m at, The little white lamb in the straw-woven hat.

Where will you find Clover? Visit us on Mondays during our Open to the Public events from 10 am -12 pm. Open to the Public begins this Monday, March 23rd. The first family to bring a picture of Clover in her hiding place to the admissions table each week wins a dozen farm - fresh eggs!

🐦 Bird of the Week: Fox Sparrow

Ever seen a sparrow with moves? The Fox Sparrow is known for its signature "double-scratch" technique — a unique two-footed hop used to kick through leaf litter while foraging! This chunky, reddish-brown sparrow passes through Nebraska each spring and fall, and occasionally sticks around for winter. Look for its bold arrow-shaped spots and long rusty tail under your feeders or along woodland edges. 🍂

While usually spotted solo or in small mixed sparrow flocks, the Red Fox Sparrow is the primary subspecies visiting Nebraska and the Eastern U.S. — with the Slate-Colored and Sooty subspecies calling the West Coast home.

Bird of the Week: Northern Bobwhite 🐦

The Northern Bobwhite is a small quail native to Nebraska and a common year-round resident across most of the state. It’s easy to recognize by its high-pitched “bob-WHITE!” call.

These birds prefer brushy edges, prairie grasslands, fence lines, and agricultural fields. They spend most of their time on the ground foraging for insects, seeds, and plants and are often seen in groups of 10–15 called a covey.
