The British White cattle are being raised at the Lazy A Ranch in Austin County. The Brazos River Ranch in Waller County finishes all grassfed beef on alfalfa and breeds Akaushi cattle.

We lost one of our favorite cows over Christmas, "South America". Named for the shape on her face, she was from a Santa Gertrudis dam and Hereford bull. She was born in November of 2008, our first year on the ranch. She had a calf every year; the last was born in 2024. Given retirement status, she lived in the heifer pasture. Hugh said she lay down and curled up, looking asleep. We miss her.
