The more summers I experience, the more I appreciate moments like this.

A quiet pasture. Evening sunlight. A good cow standing in the tall grass without a care in the world listening to the wind rustle the trees.

Life moves fast. There’s always another deadline, another project, another place to be. But every once in a while, something reminds you to slow down and enjoy where you are.

Maybe that's why scenes like this never get old.
Just a good cow, green grass, and a summer evening doing what it does best.

In the barn before daylight.
Rinsing cattle.
Mixing feed.

The bulls that walk through the show barn at BLSC are the heart and soul of the barn. With Metallika being a Cinch son, getting to work with a group of people at NSI that care just as much about the bulls as I do who also get incredible results, in conjunction with a facility that is state of the art with sexing machines on site; it was an absolute no brainer to make the trip to NSI with Metallika. I am so appreciative of not only the results and the care he received, but also the customer service and level of professionalism of every person I came into contact with at NSI. They are truly second to none.

What started as a shared goal turned into something far bigger than banners and backdrop photos. Early mornings, late nights, countless miles, wash racks, hard conversations, and the kind of teamwork that doesn’t happen unless people truly believe in one another.

These cattle may have carried the banners, but every win was built by a group of people willing to show up for each other day after day. Friends, fitters, showmen, mentors, and believers who gave their time, energy, and heart to something bigger than themselves.

The national recognition means a lot. It always will. But the part we’ll hold onto the longest is the people standing beside us in every photo and every moment in between. The laughs on the road, the stressful show mornings, the quiet moments in the barn after the crowds were gone. That’s the part of this journey that mattered most.

Because at the end of the day, the best cattle stories were never built by one person alone. They were built by a team that cared deeply about the work, the people around them, and doing things the right way.

These wins belong to every person who helped make them possible.

The banners are hung. Now it’s time to go back to work.

Metallika, sheared off and back in his working clothes after 50 days at Northland Sires. No backdrop. No lights. Just grass under his feet and a job to do. That is what a bull is required to do after his show career ends and Metallika is doing it well!

While he was on collection, semen was shipped back home to WI. With it being just me as the AI tech, those first 8 units got put to use right away.

The kind of consistency you do not guess about. You build it. You believe in it. Then you prove it.

From the barn to the tank and back out in the pasture, it all has to connect.
