This was a special treat. My good friend Scott Hohensee came to the ranch with excellent photography equipment and was able to get fantastic pictures of my breeder buck. I love my reveal cameras but Scott captured this bucks true beauty. What a fabulous buck to pass along genetics that will help the ranch for years. This deer was born on the ranch and is exactly the type of deer I like to see.

Corndog from this morning. His right G1 bends forward a little. Previously I could see a left G5 following his beam but haven’t been able to get a good look in awhile. I’m working on the annual management plan and hopefully will know how many tags I will receive soon, Then I can figure deer to harvest by age, score etc. If all goes well the ranch should have @ 10 - 12 spots or so depending on tag allocation.

Big ol brute! We have 3 years history with this deer. The granddaughters named him Corndog a few years back. Last year I figured he scored right at 200”. We were fortunate to find both sheds. This year he’s cleaned up a lot. Last year he had a small drop tine - gone this year; a 10” extra point off his left G2 - gone this year; several kickers off his G2s, 5 last year - just one this year. He’s heavier with longer beams this year. There’s a G5 on his left side that follows the beam ( can’t see it). He’s probably mid 180s and looking good! Beautiful typical frame. He’s on the shoot list this year.

Such a pretty deer! Lordy, looks like he might be pushing G7s on both sides! I have t been able to get a straight on picture of him but I’m sure he’s breathtaking. I’m thinking 23” ish for his inside spread but can’t really gauge it yet. He was 23” last year so I’m holding onto that - he might be wider this year. He’s definitely over 200” with a completely clean frame. Can’t wait to see him in person!
