Some kids grow up thinking the best entertainment comes from a screen.

Our farm kids pull up a lawn chair to watch an excavator dig, a tractor bale hay, or a combine roll through the field. They know the sound of diesel over cartoons and would rather watch (or help 🤪) real work being done than another episode on TV.
Turns out, the best shows don’t require Wi-Fi—just a little dirt, big equipment, and a front-row seat to life on the farm. 🚜🧡

Most people prep for a baby by folding tiny clothes and organizing the nursery. Me? I’m out here trying to build a fence and wondering if lifting 180-pound fencing panels counts as prenatal yoga. 🛠️🤰Turns out the “nesting instinct” hits a little differently when you live on a ranch. The clock is ticking, the to-do list is long, and this baby is going to need a secure perimeter!Don’t worry, the little cowgirl is perfectly safe—momma is just getting the homestead ready for the newest ranch hand. 🌾🐎

🌅🚜 Why do farmers work early and late in the summer?
Farmers often work in the cool morning and evening because the midday sun can be very hot. This helps keep farmers, animals, and crops safer and more comfortable.

So if you see a tractor out at sunrise or sunset, they’re just beating the heat! ☀️🌱

Ever wonder how vets check if a cow is pregnant using just their arm? 🩺🐄 It’s called re**al palpation, and here is the quick science behind it:

The Window: The re**al wall is thin, allowing vets to safely feel the reproductive tract directly below it without touching the sterile birth canal.

The Timeline: Usually done 45+ days after breeding.

The Clues: Vets feel for fluid, fetal membranes (called “the slip”), and button-like structures called cotyledons.

It takes serious practice, but it is one of the fastest ways to manage herd health! 🌾

Steers are typically calmer, easier to manage, and produce consistently high-quality beef. It’s a common management practice that supports animal welfare, herd management, and beef production. 🐂➡️🥩
