Fischer Farm

Fischer Farm Fischer Farm is a museum operated by the Bensenville Park District. The museum is open 10-4 daily. The Fischer's established the home around the year 1838.

Fischer Farm is believed to be one of the oldest remaining homesteads in the county. Through the years, the Fischer's built barns and a large farm house in 1920. The five acres of land at Fischer Farm is a Bensenville Park District park. The land just north of the cabin has been left untouched and is valued for its original seedbeds. This unchanged landscape is what settlers peered upon when they arrived in the area. Fischer Woods is a rare forest preserve with the remnants of prairie, wetland and woodland ecosystems. The Bensenville Park District in partnership with the DuPage County Forest Preserve has been working to restore the property and land. We invite you to come out and enjoy this piece of history! Fischer Farm is located just west of Church Road at 16W680 Old Grand Avenue. Admission is free, donations are accepted. The Community Ofrenda honors the lives and memories of community members and historical figures through photographs displayed on the community ofrenda. Visitors are invited to experience this meaningful tradition and reflect on the people who have shaped the community.

⛏️ Strike it rich with live music at Harvest Fest! 🎶

The final band spotlight is Comstock Lode — and the story behind the name is almost as interesting as the music.

According to founder Greg Wright, the band takes its name from the Comstock Lode, the largest silver discovery ever found, near Virginia City, Nevada, in 1856. 🪙

Comstock Lode will bring its music to Fischer Farm during the afternoon portion of Harvest Fest. And while the band knows how to bring the energy, families can feel right at home — Comstock Lode frequently performs at family-friendly venues, including Firewater Saloon in Edison Park.
