Its been a nice, relaxing night here . Pumpkin Pie Butter happily simmering, cucumbers soaking (can you believe Sweet Mike found about 40 pounds of pickling cucumbers.... The end of someone's garden I bet) and tomorrow they will be Grandma Cassie's Sweet Pickles... And I'm labeling jars. 17 cases so far . Still about 40 to go....

I can't wait for everyone to see what Sweet Mike has been doing at The Jelly Hut!!!
Painting, repairing a wall that might have gotten a hole in it 😆 and putting in a new shelf. Helping me rearrange and get on board with our Christmas Open House .. we definitely live a Sweet life in more ways than 1... Says the girl with 200 pounds of sugar in her house... When I first started, I bought the little boxes of Sure Jel, now we buy pectin in 25 pound bags, I would buy a 10 pound bag of sugar and now we buy 4-6 50 pound bags every 2 weeks... I would buy 1 or 2 cases of jars at Walmart now we buy pallets ..
I look at how things have grown with amazement!!! And we thank YOU all our wonderful customers and friends we have made on this journey.
Providing delicious foods not filled with all kinds of artificial things has been a passion for me
To actually TASTE the difference in real food vs what has so many other things added, is amazing. It tastes like what I grew up with on the farm.

So while I'm waiting for my Holiday Magic to get a bit thicker, my bonus granddaughter,Ashleigh, is expecting a baby and her shower is Saturday!!! Of course I crocheted her a blanket and then filled her basket with lots of wonderful things!!! Sweet Mike and I will have 2 grandbabies and 2 great grandbabies born in the next 3 months and we are sooooo excited (of course we wonder how we got old enough to have great grandbabies)

There is nothing like waking up to the warm, cozy smell of Amazing Apple Butter that has simmered all night!
Before my busy day starts I enjoy a hot cup of coffee, my Bible study and watching the beautiful sunrise through my back doors... Sooo peaceful!!!

Today... What's on our agenda???

Canning Amazing Apple Butter that has simmered all night into one of the most wonderful smells when I woke up
Holiday Magic... Oh it's a delightful blend of apples and cranberries and spices that just remind you of the magic in the holiday
Pumpkin Pie Butter... Yes please!!! It's flying off the shelves as fast as we can make it!!!!
Banana Split Jam and Banana Nut Bread Jam ... Sweet Mike surprised me with a 40 pound box of bananas yesterday!
Jalapeno Pepper Jelly... One of our very best, blue ribbon winning sellers! Top a block of soft cream cheese and add some crackers for an amazing and easy appetizer or use it to dip egg rolls in for a surprising, sweet with just a kick of heat dip or pour it over meatballs in the crockpot to make YOUR meatballs the envy of everyone who hosts a party.
And my last hope today... Making these cute pinecone trees.. while babysitting Carter last year , we went on a walk and collected the biggest pinecones. I have baked them to kill any critters and now have a box full to make trees out of. I love these rustic trees and think they will make a perfect addition to surround one of my natavity sets.
Don't forget to place your orders early for some of our seasonal items... Once they are gone... It's gone till next year!

I absolutely have the best students/friends in the world!
I am by no means a techy person, occasionally I wish I was and even try, but it just isn't my interest.. but Joanie Anderson from Mom For Hire NC is very techy along with so many other traits that are wonderful! She made this flyer for me... And she has helped me with ideas for my open house that are amazing! If you need some help.... She is definitely the gal to call!
Now on to our planning... We are working daily to make The Jelly Hut so nice.. sweet Mike has got the new shelf in and secured it, and painted the top part of the Hut...
I'm working on rearranging and filling it up.. I have ordered some swag bags .... And if you own a small business and want to put something in them let me know.
Jennifer has been making gift boxes and mini jars of Cheesecake Jams...
I am so excited and hope everyone else is as well!

Well we got 6 ribbons... Blue 1st place Sassy Salsa, Cranberry Apple Jelly and Grandma Cassie's Sweet Pickles... Red, 2nd place Raspberry Jelly and white 3rd place Plum Jelly, and Sweet Chili Sauce
Now to read the judges comments and try to improve!!!! We will get them Monday.
When I was speaking to Kaye Dean and Jeanie Scott they told us the judges were so very strick this year, they even had a ruler out checking headspace. And that one category, everything in it got disqualified... I had one that was but no idea why yet and I did have 5 others that made the showcase even though no ribbon
Mike and I walked so much today we are both very sore.. but we did ride the HUGE Ferris wheel and it was awesome!!!
I always love looking at the competitions!!! The giant pumpkin and watermelons were something to see and we watched baby chicks hatching. So much fun!!!

Friendship Tea aka Russian Tea
Spiced Hot Apple C***r Mix
Rich and Creamy Eggnog Mix
Hot Cocoa Mix
Fireside Coffee Mix
Pumpkin Latte Mix

They aren't canned, but these sealers are great! They work on regular or wide mouth jars and only take a minute to seal!
My pantry will soon be full of all sorts of food I have bought in bulk and divided up and sealed...
This winter Sweet Mike and I can stay home and be so cozy and not even have to go to the grocery store.

One of the most wonderful things my family and I love in the fall...pumpkin pie butter made into a delicious dip and served with ginger snaps!!!
Recipe:
1 -8 ounce jar of Pumpkin Pie Butter
1 block of softened cream cheese
2+ cups of powdered sugar

Cream all together until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving to give flavors time to meld together
Serve with gingersnaps
