Where are they now: Monk

Eventide Coolmoor Perfect Soul
"Orion"

Technically the last puppy to leave but also a placement I was really hoping would work out! Monk went to live with my good friend Amy Blankenship Christopher. Many of us have told her she needs a Wyatt in her life. A dog that kind of just does the dang thing as long as you take the time to teach them. Then she looked at their puppy pictures and her photo pick was Monk.

Orion was the little puppy of the litter who fell behind because he got knocked off the ni***es. I remember seeing his cute little short hocks and nice shoulders and telling him it would be really rude of him to leave us early. He is a lovely combination of his parents with his Dad's sweet good boy nature and more gentle approach to life (Henry cannot relate).

While we have some question of if ultimately he'll be masculine enough, as you can see he's a beautiful boy who I think will be an excellent dog to carry Amy into the future of her dog journey. I'm very excited to see them grow as a team. And seeing as she only lives 10 minutes away and visits often, James will get to give his favorite boy all the kisses often enough to keep him happy!

Where are they now: Cleric and Bard

This litter was cobred with Amy Burnette of Coolmoor Aussies. She came out to do evaluations the weekend they turned 8 weeks. We had discussed ahead of time the possibility of us both keeping two puppies. We had a very specific goal for this litter: AKC Dual Champions. Either puppies capable of it themselves or a step in that direction.

While doing evaluations we started sorting through their strengths and faults (because all dogs have faults). Who had the temperament we thought would do well in our respective houses and what we personally wanted. Graciously, Amy let me pick my top 2 (when contractually she could have taken second pick) that I wanted to keep.

When I tell you the struggle I had letting these girls go, especially Cleric. I had already been telling people I was struggling to choose between the 3 blue dogs for at least 2 weeks. While it was hard in many respects, it was also easy because I'm so excited to share the girls with Amy.

"Selune"

Selune was the first out of the box at every stage. Ms action adventure puppy and very sweet and outgoing. While she would get out, she was mostly looking for us at those times and wanted to be part of the action. She will be so fun and I think has what it takes to do all the things. It was truly some minor differences that led to me choosing Rogue and Ranger (now Henry). I cannot keep them all and I know Amy will have a ball with her!

When they tell you don't assume what you see at 4 weeks is who they'll be at 8 weeks, Shar is the epitome of that. She was ms. social butterfly, always seeking out human attention. Then at her Volhard she evaluated to not be very social. While I think ultimately she will be a classic aussie who thrives in her bond with her person, she has shown us since that she has her own ideas about life and would like Amy to hurry up and get on her page. 😂 She was one of the puppies who hit the ground at the duck eval and realized her calling in life. I'm so excited for them to develop their relationship and for Shar to show us what she's got. Our DND friends will appreciate the name as it hints at her devilish side 😈

Eventide Coolmoor Arcane Tradition
"Bear"

Bear has been traveling with Jeff and Valerie W. after they made the trip up from California and has been on an RV adventure ever since! Bear will be continuing the adventurous lifestyle with hiking and possibly some agility and therapy work! The most social boy of the litter, I knew from about the time they were 5ish weeks he was everything Valerie and Jeff told me they wanted. They report he's been fantastic on the journey after.

From July 17(ish)-July 21 I will have the portrait studio set up! If you are interested in having a portrait done of your dog in this style, please reach out! No afternoon sessions will be available unless we have unusually cool weather, morning and evening only.

It is $50 per dog, $25 if you're a member of CBDTC. This includes one fully edited head shot of your choice printed and mailed directly to you and a high quality digital version for your personal use. Upgrades available (printed on metal, etc) for additional cost.

I am also working on developing pricing for more casual shots similar to what you've seen of the puppies, litter photos, and the like.

Update: Pending finalization we believe both boys have found placement. If you are interested, keep an eye on our page as I will announce if someone is still available after this weekend.

We have a slightly complicated situation! One of these two boys is looking for his home, but we may be looking for a home for both (long story!)

While I am giving that home some time to figure out if now is the right time for a puppy, I have been given the blessing to see if we can find their perfect forever home because we don't want the opportunity to pass if it's available.

While I would *love* to keep both boys in the PNW, I am open to chatting with people further away.

Druid - Comes to the name Boo-bids because I am silly. This boy will be very hard to let go. He's got a lot of main character, life of the party energy but he's still very chill. I would like to place him in a co-own home with someone who is looking for a do all the things dog and may be willing to dabble in performance, herding, and conformation.

Monk - He is the sweetest boy, loves kisses and snuggles, and wants nothing more than to be part of whatever is going on. He has a bit more drive than Druid and would also love a home that is interested in trying all the things. Monk got a little behind when they were very small so while I would love to place him on co-own in a home willing to let him grow up and maybe do conformation, I cannot promise he will be masculine enough so I am willing to place him as a pet/performance prospect.

Our puppies are raised with ENS/Puppy Culture in our home, have been exposed to all kinds of people and experiences and have remained steady and confident. They have all had a puppy instinct test that I am happy to share. I do not sell dogs for ranch work, these dogs are appropriate for someone looking for a more "gentleman's farm dog" than gritty ranch dog. They would also make lovely pets provided regular enrichment and training.

About our program: Eventide Aussies is located in SE Washington State. We strive to produce versatile companions who are easy to live with. Dogs who go when it's go time and nap when it's not. Our dogs live on 6 acres with our 30-odd Gotland sheep. Both parents are titled in herding and rally, Jaina also does scent work. Wyatt is very close to his CD. We dabble in conformation and hope to finish both parents this coming year. Our ultimate program goal is to produce an AKC Dual conformation and herding champion (along with ASCA Ch and WTCH).

Eventide Coolmoor Stroke of Luck
"Rogue"

Some of you may remember, Rogue was the puppy Jaina kept bringing to me on the bed at 1 day old. She has consistently been the puppy to seek me out.

What a blessing that when we did structural evaluations, it was unanimous that she was the pick girl! Rogue has been telling me since they became mobile that she belongs here and I knew it would be hard to choose between her and Cleric. Overall, Rogue has structural qualities that will be easier for me to move forward with in future breeding decisions.

At her duck instinct test, she wasn't totally sure what to do with the other puppy in the pen. We put her up and 5 minutes later she was clamoring for a second chance and she was lovely! I cannot wait for her and DangerRangerZephyrStrider to be ready to start on stock.

The goal for this breeding was to produce dogs who can be AKC dual champions. I am looking forwarding to presenting the puppies at ASCA Nationals in Greeley, Colorado. In October we will start doing some BPUP, then the plan is to debut both puppies at Rose City in January. We will do some scent work in the meantime, then herding, and later other performance venues.

I am a record on repeat, but I could not be more thrilled with my first litter and the wonderful puppies we produced. Thank you again to Amy Burnette for your mentorship and guidance!

Still working on his call name because unfortunately "Ranger" is stuck in my head but he needs a cool big show boy name. Current front runners are Strider and Zephyr but who knows.

We are so excited about Mr. Ranger Danger. Amy will be staying on as a co-owner and we have big dreams. You will see him in Sweeps and puppy at National. Then in the BPup ring in October and possibly doing some scent work until he's ready to begin regular herding training. Once we've finished his championship (and maybe more?), he will begin his performance career. He showed a lot of promise on ducks, going to work as soon as his feet hit the ground. I spent the weekend afterwards working his parents and he spent a lot of time absorbing everything watching intently.

Because I loved them first...

I raised your puppy’s mother and took her everywhere with me, loving her, training her, socializing her, watching her grow. I scrutinized her conformation, her temperament, her movement.
I completed her health testing and I provided the best pre and post whelping care possible.

Because I loved them first.

I missed life events, family gatherings, work, and sleep. I didn't sleep. When I did, it was in a whelping pen. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Because I loved them first.

I had many conversations with you and asked you all of the questions I could think of.

Because I loved them first.

I worried, prayed, and watched over your puppy for weeks. I washed what felt like a million blankets and pads. I cleaned SO MUCH!

Because I loved them first.

I was the first to trim their nails. I was the first to give them a bath. I was the one who gave them confidence, comfort, and encouragement.

Because I loved them first.

I will always welcome them back into my home. Even after they go home with you, I still worry. I still have sleepless nights.

Because I loved them first.

When you call me with questions or concerns, please don't ever feel like you're bothering me. You're not. Because remember...

I’ve loved them for years before their dam was even born. I will love them until the day they leave this world and I will love them for the years and years following.

The first puppies have begun to fly the nest and this post hit really hard and perfectly describes the occasionally overwhelming emotions I've been feeling for the past week. Love, gratitude, excitement. Sadness. Even though I am extremely happy with the puppies staying here at Eventide, I could have kept any puppy and been very happy because they are all such wonderful souls and I am sad to not be their person and see them on their adventures first hand. But also wonder, that some absolutely wonderful people found their way to us and have all had a puppy in the litter who was perfect for their wishlist.

I will announce our keepers soon - if you're on my personal feed or Instagram I've already done it I just don't want to oversaturate the page so I'll schedule some of that to go out.

We do still have 1-2 boys looking for their perfect home. One I would love to find a home that is me 15 years ago - some dog knowledge but looking for my first aussie to dabble with. He is the perfect introduction dog into this breed. The other has a bit more drive and may have already found his perfect match so I will hold off on saying more for now.

5 weeks!!

They were not very enthusiastic about the heat this week. I didn't have the heart to tell them it's only bound to get worse. Most of them are already pros at sleeping on the vents in the house when they're winding down from a play session.

We continue to see sparks of their personalities and did their first big dog stacked photos as well.

We have added going outside daily to our routine, along with being out in the house, playing with the other adult dogs, and many other experiences. Potty training is going pretty well, they seem to have the idea about the alfalfa pellets being a good spot to go potty along with their pads. P*e is still a bit iffy because they are still working on bladder control and not going immediately when the mood strikes.

Overall they are a lovely bunch and I'm simultaneously looking forward to making my final decision on who my keeper is and getting the raise just one puppy and dreading see everyone off.
