Lifecycle of the drain and press!

From draining all the way to the pomace pile for future compost, this stuff gets around!

We have over 37 lots pressed so far and another 12 to go. That’s 300 tons of pomace for our compost pile!

Working with our local organizations is so important, not only to foster community ties but to also support research projects and utilize grant money in positive ways.

Benton Conservation District has become a wonderful partner in multiple projects over the past year and we are excited to continue working with them.

Shout out to our vineyard manager Reid Wilson!

This is his second vintage at Hedges and not only has he grown amazing Red Mountain fruit, he’s also brought us sheep, native plants, land restoration, beneficial insects, brewed up compost teas, made on-site compost from w**emaking waste, made biodynamic preps, secured grants, hosted research projects, planted an agroforest vineyard, and helped with numerous community events, and too many other things to mention!

Our favorite part? He’s always in a positive mood! We’re so thankful he’s here to help us make some epic w**es, he’s truly a world class grower!

Of Mother Nature didn’t make it, our w**es don’t have it. That’s our philosophy for both farming and w**emaking.

W**e does not have to disclose the up to 70 additives that can go into w**e. Many of them chemically designed.

We farm and make w**e without those because you deserve high quality w**e at your table.

Getting messy is the fun part!

These rotary fermenters are always tricky to empty, but they sure do make good w**e! Here we are draining our organic Tinta Cao. The rotary fermenters give a nice juice to skin ratio and good extraction.
