Summer is in full swing, and there's no shortage of activity in the vineyard!

This time of year, our vines are growing rapidly, and our students are busy with the important work that helps set the stage for a successful harvest. From shoot positioning and canopy management to monitoring vine health and developing fruit, every task is focused on helping the grapes ripen evenly and produce the highest quality fruit possible.

Behind every bottle of Lake Michigan Vintners wine is a season of careful work, hands-on learning, and a commitment to growing exceptional grapes right here in Southwest Michigan.

🏅 We're Celebrating! 🍷

Lake Michigan Vintners is proud to announce that three student-crafted wines earned medals at the 2026 Taste Michigan Governor's Cup, one of the state's most prestigious wine competitions!

✨ 2025 Rosé – Fresh and vibrant with notes of strawberry, watermelon, and citrus.
✨ 2025 Sauvignon Blanc – Crisp and refreshing, featuring bright grapefruit, lime, and tropical fruit.
✨ 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon – Rich and elegant with layers of black cherry, cassis, and subtle baking spice.

These awards reflect the passion, hard work, and hands-on learning of our students alongside the dedication of our faculty and winemaking team. Congratulations to everyone who helped bring these award-winning wines to life!
