It's been a long winter here and I'm just thrilled to be getting my seeds started indoors. This year I'm staggering my planting so I can stagger the harvest. It doesn't do us any good to have 100 heads of lettuce ready to eat at the same time! What are you plating this year?

It Was A God Thing...

It wasn't long after we made the decision to be obedient to what God was asking us to do, that we had our dreams fall into our lap. You see, we thought we were better off making our own decisions than asking God what He intended for our lives. Turns out, His idea was better...

We began to return our tithe to the church, and within days, our realtor friends were telling us about a 10 acre hobby farm coming soon to the market. This 1940's farmhouse happened to have the number of bedrooms we needed for our family. It happened to have an office for my husband to work from home. It happened to have 7 outbuildings for us to grow our budding business and house livestock. And it happened to be in our budget. You guys. This is nothing short of miraculous in our area. We made an offer and prepared our home for sale. Not only was our offer accepted, but our house sold for full asking price before even hitting the market.

We started to ask the questions, why would He give us this farm? What purpose is in store for us and this property? What good can we do with our resources? The more we continue to lean in, the answers become more clear. God blessed us with this farm because He knew it was the desire of our hearts. But more than that, He's entrusted us to care for the land and for the community around us.

Our vision is this... to share our journey of sustainable farming with the people around us and to give back to our community. We imagine drawing people in to experience the country. Pick your own apples. Pet the animals. Eat the popcorn. Live off the land...
