This afternoon I went to say goodbye to one of the finest men I’ve ever known. I have known him for 30 plus years since the second day I moved to Ky in the fall of 1993. He was the first man I met when I walked in to the Hutson Ag John Deere dealer. I turned to my right and waved at (Cliff Guthrie). He got up out of his chair and came and shook my hand like a Strong Man. Then he told me to come sit down in his office and asked me, “what can I help you with young man.”Then I told him where I was from and that I was moving into this area. I asked him where I could find a job. I told him that my heart was in farming but I knew the season was about over and would like a job there at Hutson. But I was getting married and had a little one on the way. He told me to sit tight in his office that a good farmer friend was coming to sign papers on all his new equipment that he was getting for the 1994 season. That day, I met Steven Terry Farms and the rest is history. Going to miss, “Huffy Puffy”. Gone way to soon. The 15 years living on Lewis Rd we become friends for life. Rip my friend you and Mitch Keep on farming till we meet again.
