We don’t ever discuss anything political, so this will be a different post for us. We are proud Independents here at Ancestor Farms, and keep an open mind.
However yesterday needs to be addressed. We were harvesting peacefully in our garden when a running local politician pulled in hot and got argumentative when we asked about what the Democratic Party plans to do about the homeless encampment by the river behind our farm. It’s been nothing but danger down there for almost a year (one Good Samaritan family even got attacked with hammers) and has kept those public rail trails inaccessible now, and I know lots of citizens who enjoy utilizing those trails, especially in winter for cross country skiing. Matt Townsend’s answer was, and I quote: “What would we do with them?”.
Is that the type of person you want to lead our district here in Benton & Fairfield? We will be voting for Shawn Dixon for Maine House after that encounter. If any of y’all feel the same way, please comment that you support Shawn Dixon and we’ll enter you into a raffle to win a beautiful dried flower arrangement by this Fri Oct 16th!
